I’m skeptical about the changes with the 2nd season. At this point I’m tired of them saying « fuck » at practicaly every line. Also I’m confused half of the time as to whom is talking because the MC and his superior (I forgit his name) are drawn way too similarly. The chaos doesn’t help. It was hilarious on few panels but became irritating as it makes it hard to understand the situation. I’m confused as to why they do thing as they did like why are you doing this and then backtracking? Also what is going on??

Is it me or the translation is weird on some chapters? I’m not an english native speaker so maybe it’s just me but I feel like some dialogue doesn’t make sense nor isn’t fluid. I don’t know ╮(￣▽￣)╭
It’s not to the point where I can’t understand shit but I feel like there’s something wrong with the wording. It takes me out of the story which is quite frustrating sometimes.
I stopped at chapter 20. I love the idea of a murim people transmigrating into modern era but the execution is lousy imo.

Okay, I’m not realky the type to write reviews but I had to let my frustration out for this one. So where to begin with?
Well first I hate the ML. He is a dick through and through. There is no reedemable quality in him. He is a monster more than anyone else in this story (maybe aside from the stepmother but they are in the same position for me. And she is the villain which show how much of a scum he is), he has no compassion nor remorse nor empathy. I hate him.
Plus he is a rapist. I hate that but at this point there is always rape in most of yaoi. I’m numb to it at this point, which isn’t a good thing but anyway. So my point is why do I want to root for him? He is suppose to be reedeming himself but to this point I saw nothing that could make me change my mind.
And mind you, we are already 50 chapters in.
It’s my second point. Which is, the slow pace of this story!! WHERE’S THE PLOT???
But why is that? It’s simple, yet infuriating.
They have sex all the time!!!!!! Of course the plot won’t move forward. I stayed because it was interesting enough and it was spooky because of the gorgeous art. BUT, please!!! The sex!! I beg you to stop it! Or at least don’t take 2 damn chapters for it every time. And it happened every 2 to 3 chapters!!! I could have skipped most of the sex’s chapters and I wouldn’t miss that much of the plot seriously. (And as much as it pains me to say it but I had enough of seeing them fucking). And there is no feeling involved during the act anyway so it’s boring fast.
I didn’t count (nor do I have the will to) but I think without those scenes, there would be only 15 to 20 chapters at most.
Anyway I finished my rant.

It’s one of the best written BL story’s in my opinion. I truly don’t understand why so many people complain about the amount of sex scenes when you’re literally reading a BL Yaoi story. I don’t think you realize that understanding the dynamic between the two partners and how it evolves when they’re doing it is also part of the story’s plot. For example from season one till now, you can tell that Lee Nok has become more comfortable with Jaeshin and Jaeshins become softer to him. And that’s indicative of their evolving feelings for each other. Not to mention that the English translations are at least five chapters behind the Korean translations like there is so much that’s happened with the plot from season 1 to now I’m just lost as to how you think it’s going nowhere like have you even been reading?

I feel like in stories with supernatural and/or long-lived beings, people forget that they tend to amoral. We can’t be sure if time really makes someone amoral and/or hedonistic, but I think we’ve all encountered the phrase uttered by Harvey Dent in the Batman movie, “You Either Die A Hero, Or You Live Long Enough To See Yourself Become The Villain".
The hypothesis when writing supernatural beings is that they have lived so long and seen so much that normal people’s values and ethics don’t apply and it comes up in most if not all stories dealing with the supernatural.
Take Natsume Yuujincho for example, a lot of the yokai he meets aren’t malicious, but do some things that we might find questionable and they always bring up how short human lives are.
So this not to justify Jaeshin, but he’s written as a demon, granted, he’s a half-demon, but he doesn’t identify with his human half. The reason he has to make a human fall in love with him is to humanize himself.
Yeah i agree with you, i had to drop because of the rape. I dont mind rape when it's supposed to be a fucked up relation, but this is suppose to be well, about people falling in love.
You didn't want to count, yet you like to speak about the numbers. So I did the counting for you - for 58 chapters there're 18 chapters with sex scenes and I've counted in even when most of the chapter is not sexual. And it's not like all the rest of them took whole chapters. So without then we would have get 40-42 chapters, not 15 or 20. That gives us 31%, much less then a half. And we have to remember that the chapters only with the story are often longer.
I feel like the ppl who most complain it's all sex and no plot, are the one most focused on those parts.
The rape parts are hard, I do agree with that. However they fit to the story. Have you noticed that it's one of the very few yaoi when it's not romanticised? There's a character (Yeom) who tells him that by doing that he's not different from molesting vermin ghosts and will only get Nok's hatred. And Nok hates him for that and skewered him (gosh that was satisfying).

Personnally that's not enough for me :/ I don't find it interesting when a rape victim falls in love with their predator, even if it is said to be bad and yes even if there's a psychological reason behind the predator's action. Glad to know it's at least adressed but it's still not enough for me to enjoy. To each their own tho!
I agree that's the weakest point of this story. No victim would truly love their predators. We could only get a Stockholm syndrome in that case. And I'm not absolving the writer about that.

First time? Oookay let's say Jaeshin's dumb, it's a fantasy, set in medieval times when there were different views on "rape", Half asleep Nok thinks it's just another ghost that keeps molesting him. Still not consent and rapey, though.
But it would be so much better and intact for the story to put here Yeom's reprimend, Nok realising it was more real than other ghosts (but still a ghost), stabbing to prove, then Jaeshin, remembering he should not put it as he likes, but in order to show and explain that it was thanks to him Nok wasn't stalked by other ghosts, molests him again. Then propose the agreement.
But the second one? Absolutely horrible. With "I don't want to wait", "it's no use begging a ghost" and crying Nok - it broke my heart.
I just hope it won’t take forever for them to be together. I know you’re going to end up together, there’s no suspense here, so why unnecessarily prolonging the suffering? I just can’t find it in myself to endure the bitches a.k.a the emperor and empress. I hate just to think about it. I also hope that there won’t be too much unnecessary drama like : i love you but I won’t tell you because blah blah, another bitch appearing and hurting each other for nothing. Frustrating I tell you!

I have a hunch that Jiwoo won't talk even if they torture him and keep the info for himself until his last breath but I hope Kaiden will come before it gets to that point.
My guess is that the trio will notice Jiwoo's absence and will go to his house, run into the mess near his home, discussing about it, letting kaiden (in cat form) be aware of the situation at the same time. He will then transform and tell them not to run around (which they will not obey obviously) and sneak into the basement (not without noticing shinwha and the union ofc) freeing Jiwoo while Kaiden is kicking the ass of the two who dare to hurt such his pupil.
