Sakura-chan's Favorite

This story was actually pretty sweet and a great redemption for Kan. I've read some manga where the abuser more or less gets away with his abuse. The victim leaves, finds their own love. And then the abuser finds their love too with no real consequence or regret over their actions. Heck, sometimes the victim even forgives them.
What I like here is that it shows the toll the abuse took on Kan as well. While obviously his circumstances aren't the same as other abusers in that he wasn't just genuinely a huge jerk sociopath, his backstory wasn't treated as something that absolves him of his abuse either. Kan was being abused at work, and in turn, took it out on Yumi. He is aware of it. Yumi is aware of it. Knowing he won't stop and things won't go back to being the same is what ultimately makes him finally let Yumi leave. And Yumi does as well, realizing there's nothing he can do and that he doesn't need to stay and take it.
Afterwards, Kan is left with guilt and believes he doesn't deserve love. Honestly, the man needs therapy to undo all that abuse heaped on him and to undo his abusive habits. Instead, Kan created his own coping mechanism by taking it all inward, redirecting his anger onto himself instead of Shuuna, as shown when he chooses to hurt himself than to punch Shuuna.
Shuuna recognizes this is no way to go and tries to put him at ease because he doesn't want Kan to live the rest of his life walking on eggshells either.
This is what makes the ending more satisfying. Because ultimately it's just Shuuna's reassurance that he'll always be there to support him that helps Kan move on. Shuuna thinks Kan should try talking to Yumi, maybe get closure by having him forgive him. But Kan knows that's not good and it's just a cop-out. He doesn't want to forget what he did because he genuinely wants to atone for it.
And I love that the mangaka showed that. Yumi, as well, is not required to forgive Kan. No one is required to forgive their abuser just to put their mind at ease. That's why his final peace treaty, a photo album for Kan to store the photos in rather than his wall, is all the more poignant. It's Yumi's way of saying he's moved on without directly giving words of forgiveness, and it's a way for Kan to keep holding onto the memories without letting it burden him.
Kan won't forget what he did, but his photos are now in the same spot as all his photos with Shuuna, his loved on, and in order. So he can see his growth and see that he's not some horrible human being beyond redemption. He's content to know Yumi is happy, Yumi is content to know he's finally happy. And that's all they need.
The mangaka was able to show the complexities and nuances in Kan and Yumi's relationship without condemning either one and without hand-waving away the abuse. Because not everything is black or white. In the end, this was a very sweet read.

Meh, they are all aware that Sakai likes them both. Who says they're not being loved equally. Kitada seemed perfectly fine with being needed and having Sakai at his side, and able to continue having sexual relations. Nishi wanted priority, and thats what he got. Sakai just needed the two of them around, and thats what he got.

Seems like a pretty good polyamorous relationship to me. No, they don't all have to date each other. They both "date" Sakai. And they understand each other's "role" to the wellbeing of said relationship. Polyamory isnt for everyone. But ultimately Nishi realized how much Sakai neeed Kitada and was okay with it. He didn't like it at first, but then he realized how important Kitada was for them all. They are ALL okay with the open relationship.

I think the misfortunate part is that kousuke(ooshiba big bro) is actually the one in love with setagawa. And hasekura noticed that there will be a lot of drama between setagawa and kousuke because of that as kousuke will be in denial and shifting it to setagawa is the one who is inlove with him instead of being true to himself. Hence why hasekura said to ooshiba that setagawa is already a misfortunate person as he is the one being pulled left and right.
I mean setagawa admires the brother and adores ooshiba , hes very supportive(or has a fuck it attitude) about hasekura and ooshiba relationship but is happy as long as oshiba is happy with hasekura. hes just very satisfied with his life right now living in peace these past few years not including all the random stuff kousuke made him do (note in the prequel setagawa was dragged when he arrived to ooshiba house by kousuka and then dressed like a women just to get into a bar with kousuke to have a chat with asaya(ooshibas big sis) ) there is a lot of turnmoil on the road for setagawa and kousuke to finally be together . Please note that i havent seen the raws for hitorijime my hero so i have no idea how the story will go as the chapter moves on. As i can only read the eng translated chapters . Frankly my japanese reading skills sucks bad.

So after the whole "woah he's a dude" thing, Ogata thinks, "I clearly understand he's a man but kept trying to get close to him. I think he's cute. Because I like him, I want to touch him" and like how he likes Saya because Saya is the only one to understand him and makes him laugh and stuff. So Ogata runs into Saya and they go off to talk in private. He asks what the bartender was asking and Saya is like "He asked if you and I have a good relationship. I told him I make breakfast for you. He said he also wants to eat." Ogata looks nervous at the idea that Saya would cook for someone else. "Okay.. so are you going to do it?" Saya says he won't, then tries to pay back Ogata what he owes him: "With that it's all finished, I won't make [breakfast] anymore." He says goodbye and leaves.

Now Ogata's moping and his sister's freaked out. His mom's like "Yusuke's not eating breakfast today?" (HMM I wonder why~~). Ogata thinks, "I have to apologize to Saya, but how.." He heads over to Saya's place and asks his mom if he's home and she's like "You're Misaki's friend???" and calls for Saya to come down. "That child looks very gloomy but he's actually a good boy. Please get along with him." Ogata agrees.

They go outside. Saya says,"There were some things I wanted to say anyway." Ogata cuts him off with, "But before that, I'm so sorry. I didn't plan to do that." And then something like 'When I was touching you I was caught up/thinking more about the matter/business of it than actually touching you' and then he's like "But this doesn't change how [I feel about you;] I like you."

Saya replies, "But isn't that because I can read Yusuke? The bartender said Yusuke is expressionless so it's hard to tell what you're thinking. But I understand.... Didn't I say? Yusuke, it's fine, your reaction was normal. Besides, I am so happy that for the first time [I was] embraced/held close like that by a man and kissed. I always wanted to see what it was like. I finally achieved happiness [or "a good time"?]. Thank you." Ogata says, "So we can still be friends," and Saya's like 'Sure, I'll stop by where you are sometime, you'll never escape me~' and they part ways... but they're both sad babies and totally lying to themselves. )):

In the last chapter, Shingo ask Kagami to have sex because he feels like doing it and they won't have chance to do it anymore once Kagami is at America.

This chapter begin with Shingo telling Kagami to remember his scent before he goes to America. In his thoughts, he starts to wonder how did Kagami smells like. He couldn't remember it anymore and he wants to recall it. ("How does this guy smells again? I can't recall it anymore. I want to recall it") Kagami then calls out to Shingo.

While Shingo kisses Kagami, he starts sniffing Kagami. Shingo wonders if there was any point to them having sex even though there was no scent. After some...piercing... Kagami calls out to Shingo and offers to help Shingo with his butt because he's not used to doing it. But Shingo doesn't want to. Kagami says it's not that Shingo doesn't want to, changing another way of saying it... he wants to do it for Shingo. Shingo insisted that he doesn't want Kagami to do it and even whacks his hand away.

Shingo looks depressed and Kagami somehow noticed it. Kagami then tightens his hold around Shingo's waist and does it for Shingo anyway. (Doing his butt) Shingo told him to wait but Kagami says, "You're the one who wants me to remember Shingo's scent, so don't always say no, don't want. If you don't let me touch you properly, it might be possible that I will forget your scent?" Shingo then goes, "...I don't care. It doesn't matter if you forget." Kagami then grabs him and flipped him around, pressing him into the bed and looks at him. He lightly bump his forehead against Shingo's and says, "I was just joking. How could I ever forget Shingo's scent?" (Shingo doesn't look impressed) Kagami continues, "Before this, there were times where I had to go for outdoor filming and was not home for a long period of time. And I even plan to try and make time to come back home often to see you. This time will also be the same." So after showering Shingo with kisses, he caress Shingo's cheeks and tells him "Don't show me such a lonely expression." Shingo denies it, but Kagami insisted that Shingo did and started kissing him again. Shingo then tells him again that he is not feeling lonely. Kagami then goes, "Really? But I'll feel very lonely though?"

Some staring happen between them then Shingo smiles (not the good kind) and he laughs. Shingo says "You're the one who decides to go", then Kagami cuts in and says, "Even if that's the case" then he was cut off and push away by Shingo "What are you talking about? Stop talking and hurry up and let's do it. Hurry up and put it in. Cum inside as much as you want." (Trembling here and there...)

After hearing that, Kagami got pissed and start doing it rough with Shingo. Shingo keeps telling him "No", "Don't" and "Wait". (And the usual hmms and ahhs, skip 2 pages where there's conversation again)

Shingo then tells him that it hurts and he's being rough. He repeats to Kagami again that he's being too rough. Kagami then says "Originally, I wanted to be gentle with you. But you had to be so reckless and stir me up. How stupid of you." (He probably meant it in a sexual way?) Kagami looks sad and Shingo looks a little blank? Then Shingo says "Because...there's no more scent..." (Which shock Kagami) Shingo continues, "You're not emitting any scent. There used to be a very sweet and strong scent. But now, there's nothing. That...that is to say... once you've lost interest, the scent will disappear along with it. You have lost interest in me. Isn't that what's happening?" (Kagami is stunned and still inside of him while he is saying that...haha sorry I have to point that out! =P)

Shingo then got up and continues "Even if you plan to use your acting skills to deceive me" He pulls out from Kagami at this point. "But, by smelling, I can sense it." More staring and Kagami looks sad. Kagami then says "Not...emitting any scent?" His mouth open slightly and ask, "Why...?"

Shingo then yelled at him, "How would I know that! Either you've lost interest or you've gotten tired of me, you should know!" Kagami then says, "What are you talking about? The problem is...the one who feels the scent. Losing interest or getting tired of it...That person...Shingo, it's you."

(Things are getting technical here, I'll try my best to translate)
Kagami: "No matter how much hormones filled with love I emit, whether you can experience the 'good scent', this kind of feeling is based on the one who feels it. That's what other people have told me...And from Shingo's body, this is the first time I've ever experience it"

Text (Not sure who says this, probably Kagami): "Is that so? That there is no scent anymore." Then Kagami grab and hugs Shingo.

Kagami then ask Shingo, "Did I do something to you, Shingo? Do you hate me? That's not it, after all, the scent has disappeared. (Next page) Do you not care for your feelings towards me anymore? ...Or is it, my feelings still could not reach you after all?" And so... the sex continues... Kagami continues, "In the end, you're just like you were when we first met, when you couldn't trust me? Is that it, Shingo?"

(Flips page again)
Kagami: "Though it doesn't matter anymore. Whether it had happened in the past or just recently, I've already understand that you don't trust me."

(Next page, Kagami continues doing Shingo)
Kagami: "But even so, to me, Shingo's scent is just that sweet even now. My wanting to change your feelings has never change. No matter what Shingo thinks, it doesn't matter" (Shingo is still saying No and ahhs) And then Shingo turns and looks at him.

Kagami: "I'm sorry? Don't show such a frightened expression. Wasn't the one who initiatively seduced me, you?" (Continues the...sex. With Shingo usual "No" and "Ahh") "Even if there's no scent,"
