Do any of yall know where the raws at?

Val. May 29, 2020 12:18 pm

Lmao. Everyone's saying they're confused but like???? I'm not??? I have a pretty good grasp on what's going on. Here's a little explanation about the characters' motives. At least, from what I personally understood.

First, Alicia (kai's sister, the princess in name with no blood connection to the royal bloodline. She already noticed how Kai's guardian, grand duke Hawthorn, is treating him. We don't know the duke's actual motives (there are only theories), but it may be something along the lines of raising a puppet by weakening kai's options. (we've seen how he only studies history. what about defense/offense? etiquette? economics? Etc. You may have not noticed, but I clearly remember a chapter in which after the duke left, Kai took out a politics book he'd been hiding/studying in secret.) So, the duke is probably trying to raise Kai into a blind ruler who doesn't think strategically, but rather uses the fastest options to solve a problem. But perhaps that wasn't the duke's initial goal. He thought he'd be able to pull the strings, but instead created an unbridled monster. Well, that's how it turned out in the novel. Anyways, Alicia is trying to obtain money, power and influence asap so that she can have a say in this matter and protect Kai from those who are trying to exploit and hurt him in any way. She's realized her own weakness and is trying to overcome it not because she personally wants power, but because she realized that kind of power is now a necessity for her & her brother's survival. but yeaaaaaaah. She's secured a good job as the black sun's advisor so nobody can say she's useless. For what society thinks is a proper title for a "lady", she's in the process of securing her place as Ares's fiance. They've already agreed to it, they're just gonna act like lovers for a bit so that Kai won't be suspicious (but honestly it's just weirding him out lmao).

Now Ares. Bro this man is still mysterious as fuck??? (what a surprise for a ml) Not much has been revealed about him yet, but he's obviously interested in the mc and sees her potential as an advisor. But honestly there's no denying he's attracted to her. Not only did he sleep with her, but there are often panels that show him gazing at her in a *whistle* way. (that one panel where we see Alicia's silky hair reflected in his eyes came to mind.) He's also trying to get closer to her (why else would he agree to sharing an office with her???) That's all I know for now.

Edith. (the royal princess by blood) do I even gotta explain? She obviously hates Alicia's guts. Probably because she's one of those vainglorious bitches that think noble blood is everything. Talent, beauty or whatever don't matter to her. Well, that's how society used to be so I'm not surprised. Though, I feel like she /does/ think Alicia's beauty may threaten her position as the empire's most beautiful lady. She's tried to bring Alicia down right from the start & isn't feeling so good about her relationship with Ares, her crush.

KAI. BABYDHDG ok. im calm. Remember when I talked about the politics book kai was hiding? Yeah, that proves even he knows he's being mistreated, and taking action alone. Perhaps because he thinks he'll trouble Alicia if he tells her, or that she may get hurt if she's involved. We've already seen her snap at that bastard who deceived Kai. Now, he probably thinks she'll recklessly try to defend him. How is he taking action? By studying as many subjects as he can in secret because confronting the duke or making complaints would be useless. Who would believe a child? They'll think him getting on the throne got to his head, or he's getting lazy. Please, we all know he's a hard ass tsundere. He cares a lot about his sister, but obviously won't admit it. (choosing the "best" gift for her, worrying about her health, missing her, etc.) Now that I think about it, aren't they both trying hard to protect each other???? FUCK. IM SOFT.

Ahhhhhhh idk what else to mention??? Nothing's crossing my mind rn. But if anyone's confused about something you can ask me, I'll gladly answer if I know anything. This is one of the select few isekais I adore, the comments deadass got me hot.

To me the plot is also quite clear. Thanks for the explanation, it’s really good (๑•ㅂ•)و✧

Ohh i thought alicia was the one who gave kai that politics book

Ohh i thought alicia was the one who gave kai that politics book Miharuuuu

I an pretty sure she did. Since she asked Kai what he was studying & her maid helped hide the book. Kai seems too innocent to see the mistreatment (ex the pen & pearls incident). She probably told him to hide the book or told him that he is being used/controlled.

Am I the only one who isn't grossed out by the relationship between Yuri and Sofia?? I don't know if it's because I read a lot of medieval stories, but I sympathized to a certain extent. As much as I hate cheating, society was much more different during that era. It was absolutely stiffling, women only had value as potential wives. They'd grow up believing they had no future just because of what they have between their legs. So many women must have ended up with miserable marriages. Seeing the husband's behavior, I'm sure their marriage isn't a happy one. She was literally so scared to voice her opinion on HER daughter. We don't have much information on their relationship or how it even started, but I somehow feel like I know all there is to know. Yall say the fact she's kissed/done it with two men is disgusting, but honestly, it's not as disgusting as it is sad. I don't think it's sad because she gives herself to two men, but because one of them has her consent forcibly. Cheating isn't always done out of pure lust or evil purposes. In this case, I sincerely believe they love each other. Yuri doesn't discriminate against women, perhaps that's one reason he was able to make her act upon her feelings for once, even if it's in secret. It must have been a heavy decision. Back then, this would be considered "adultery" and would DEMOLISH a woman's reputation, and stain a man's ever so slightly. I hope people realize this wasn't a decision they took on a whim, I clearly felt his love for her when he was watching her and her husband from above. The pained smile that hovered on his lips actually made my chest sting. Yuri will always have to watch from the sidelines, and Sofia will always have to keep up a facade. I don't know. Cheating is truly a bad thing, in the sense that it betrays the trust your original partner has in you. But what leads to it is what matters to me. There's no one definition for "bad" and "good". Not in an awful society like that. It's been toned down in the manga, but society was much more cruel than yall think. The artist really knew what they were doing when they portrayed that relationship, as cloudy as it seemed. I didn't think "wow, what a bitch move." but rather, "oh."

I’m not gonna say I like that point in the story. But it is true that it have to be understand the context and the era when the characters are. It was very common to have lovers even if they were married and often for the woman it was a tragedy but the man had all the rights.
But I don’t feel sorry for the husband but more for Yuri and his sister-in-law because they love each other but can’t be together. And assuming that Catarina is Yuri’s daughter I find it sad that Yuri can’t said it's his daughter and Catarina love fer uncle more that her "father".

    。゚(゚´Д`゚)゚。 July 14, 2020 10:38 am

This was so spot on ╥﹏╥ watching those two made my heart ache... You need to know context before writing things off as good or bad!!!

    marian-hime August 7, 2020 5:10 am

Totally agree! I think that now we feel so strongly about cheating cos we assume marriage is a choice made out of love, and with love comes trust, and cheating breaks said trust like you said. But we have to consider that most of those marriages were but an alliance, there was no love involved, some of those women were even missarable, is it so weird that Sofía fell for the brother who was not an ass? Can you blame her? And it's obvious Yuri also loves her. It's still not exactly ok to cheat even if this cases, but it's soooo not unexpected

Something ab this is hitting a visceral nerve in me. Literally why am I annoyed lmao

Val. May 20, 2020 4:32 pm

Ok but like I don't think the mother deserves the hate lmao. She genuinely wants Aine to fit into the category of what's "normal" to her. She thought she had a chance because he was still a child. From that perspective, she's kind of right because we're heavily influenced by our childhood. But that's exactly why she can't completely reverse him, he's already influenced as a member of his notorious family. The effects of what he's been taught and the reality he's living in have already kicked in. He clearly understands his situation, that's why he's continuing his training. But she doesn't. She's focusing on giving him a happy childhood, as naive as that may seem. You can't deny it reflects her kindness. Honestly, that kind of kindness is pretty lethal in the world she ended up in. I think that part of her wants to escape reality, hence her focus on Aine. And yall better not come at me saying she's not kind to the Duke blah blah. He threatened her and he's an adult. Once you're an adult, changing becomes harder because some concepts have already been ingrained. As for the threat, someone from modern society where spilling blood is one of the highest form of crime will naturally react the way she did seeing a dead body. Even if the Duke didn't mean to threaten her, what's "normal" to him and to her body's past owner isn't normal to her. Obviously she would take it as a threat. Yall make it seem so easy to suddenly adapt to such an environment and begin speaking and thinking as such. You can't, because you yourself have some internalized values from your experiences in modern society. She didn't have to worry about being poisoned or assassinated in her past life or even expect that to happen. Be it to her or her loved ones. How is she suddenly supposed to understand that? You think it's logical and easy because you're a reader seeing all of the character's perspectives and true thoughts. You start assuming shit. I like the mother. Even if Aine is putting up an innocent facade, she was still able to move him. I'm sure here and there, he shows a genuine smile. You can't deny she gave Aine another reason to become stronger, a reason other than surviving or inheriting his father's legacy. To protect what's dear to him, to protect the only person who gently smiled at him, who loved and praised him. She didn't give him empty words or crocodile tears. She made him feel loved and cherished. In a sense, she gave him something he truly needed. You can't tell me she's not a good character. I mean, of course she's gonna be a bad character if you expect every single reincarnated person to be a genius at adapting, critical thinking, seeing through lies etc. She's a normal citizen from the modern era. I'm sure at some point she'll find out about how SHE was the innocent person, not Aine. And even then, she will still love him. She'll start to understand the situation he's in eventually. That's what I'm waiting for. I want to see Aine finally being loved while being himself. At this point I kinda don't care about the romance lmao

    Ehhh!? May 20, 2020 4:37 pm

Yep! I like the mother and the son and I'm want to see where this goes too!

    fujoshi des(;ω;) May 20, 2020 6:08 pm

Aye... Totally agree with you... Some people r just hating her for som stupid lil reason... Thts unreasonable... Well as u said... We just gonna see how this turned out... Cause i definitely want to see it... N logically we cant really help feeling annoyed but we need to see the world from her pov(point of views) n try to understand it while the story builds up in different kind of world tht shes thinkin of... I cant really see people blatantly hate the mc...
