It's better to know the whole past rather than being shown only snippets of it as a flashback between the present and the past, although most people want the latter.

i dont think you understand the process of making a webcomic the person who revises mainly publisher is supposed to give feedback on the flow of the story of course if it is lacking in sex scenes they'll request some to draw in more readers but they are focused on the overall story
however if the point of the "story" is porn then that's a different case
in this situation the rape scene which contributed nothing to the plot isn't bringing in more money and was entirely the author's choice
