I think the major turning point is really Archibald dying to regaing his previous tl memories and Louise understanding her dreams were not mere dreams and she wants to repay everything good irenea has done for her.

Even if yes, they were brainwashed and weren't aware, there were probably too into it and also a fact that FL suffered so much in the past, that this is them (ragna) punishing them for their previous TLs deeds. If they were lucky, maybe another time regression will happen again but this time, without the brain washing. Like y'all, it's that feeling of knowing MC suffered in previous TL then let them go in the new TL cause they were brainwashed? It doesn't erase the suffering she suffered.
