Sweating bullets here, man... Did Clark forget that Alex is a serial killer with a pattern and modus operandi? You can get close, but when you pull away, that's when you get dead. Besides, Alex is a killer who was never officially caught so it's not like he's a moron. All the more so because he's so sensitive to human interactions and gets close to those who eventually become his victims. The hunter is gonna become the hunted if he doesn't play his cards right. And, if this were to be realistic, the psychiatrist may end up as collateral damage.
