I thought the same thing but honestly I feel like it might be safer for the mc to work with the ml. The brother-in-law's intentions are still not clear at this point in time plus he may be nice but his mother is still the same woman who tortured the mc. That other alpha who likes the mc is also just another random guy. And even if mc were to go and find another job, he'd still be at risk so considering all these factors, I feel like it would be good for him to work under the ml instead.
