As a former alcoholic myself, my eyes zeroed in on those bags. I, too, was ready to pour it all down the gutter if it was alcohol.
I'm not surprised. No one is really showing him explicitly that they're on his side. Even though Jaekyung technically is, he keeps yelling at him, berating him, and forcing him into sex when he knows Dan is not in his right mind.
When I was drinking, all the yelling and berating made me drink more. The only one who treated me kindly was my long time college friend. He helped me pour the drinks down the drain and checked in on me every few days to see how I was doing.
