I thought it was pretty good. The characters were great, and the story was actually really interesting. The only thing I have to say is that it felt really underdeveloped and anti-climatic. There were so many things in this story that I wish were built on more.
(quick warning here, I'm not good at remembering names but bear with me.)
Like, maybe the relationship between the main couple could've gone more gradually and slowly since it personally felt too quick. I really want to know what happened to that guy who had a crush on that girl with the rose name.
And the biggest plot point that I really hoped for development was the stalker guy. He just killed himself and that was it. No trauma towards the main character or anything. The stalker guy had real potential and he was really enticing!
Overall, it was all good. The plot points, the characters, the side story- all of it. But I'm really sad how it was kinda rushed and undeveloped.
This is going to be echoing a lot of points that people have made, but whatever. I agree when people say a lot of things were unnecessary. Rei and the incest were totally not needed (and was disturbing). And the rape. There were multiple rape scenes. Honestly, the whole concept kinda reminded me of rape. The mage spreads pheromones that make other men touch them, sometimes without any consent. And I agree with a lot of people that Rei did get off too easy. He should be actually punished. I also wish the world was built a little more. The place where the cat and the hamster come from looks INCREDIBLE and I wish we could've seen that world a little more. Overall, I think the concept is interesting and the art is pretty cute, but if it just didn't have any rape and incest and was built a little more professionally, I actually think it would be a good manga.
So, I finished it! And for some reason, I'm crying. I will say, the art is beautiful. There were certain scenes I loved because they looked so beautiful. But I think the thing that really set me off about this story was how confusing it was. In the first season, it was kinda confusing but I didn't mind. I still kinda enjoyed the first season. But then the second season came along and OH BOY. I was confused as shit. I didn't understand a thing that was going on. Another thing I'd like to point out was how (and this is gonna sound mean) forgettable the first couple and season were. Don't get me wrong, I loved Ginger and Rum. But during the second season, they kinda just disappeared. It got to the point where you forgot that the first season even existed. I like the concept, and I really like the art. But because of how confusing it was, it's hard to really like this story.
This story was really refreshing. There were barely any conflicts and all the conflicts that were there were believable. But oh my god, the communication between the characters is insane. The amount of communication in this made me so happy. Sure, there was conflict where the whole problem was because they didn't communicate, but when they did, it was amazing. I also really like this story for including bisexuality and pansexuality! Most of the time, mangas forget about bisexuality or any other type of sexual orientation, so I was surprised when I saw the mention of pansexuality. And I like the messages this story gave. My favorite was when Elle said love is love. Beautiful. I really liked the story, and I'm sad it ended, but I'm glad it didn't go on for a second season. Totally my favorite now :)
I don't want to bring negativity, since everyone else loves this story a lot, and I want to respect that. But I did have to drop it after I think chapter 40. Season one was amazing. I loved season one. Then as season two went by, I didn't like it too much anymore. I believed that the story catered more towards the smut than any actual story, and I was becoming disappointed. But hey, I can see why everyone else likes it and I think if I wasn't so picky, I would've liked it too. I do still think it was a good story and there were plenty of times that I cried. 7.8/10, would recommend. :)
Ok, wait, what the fuck. Their relationship is weird. It's another one of those stories where rape is romanticized and used as a way for characters to get together. And what I really hate was the fact that the author tried to justify the rape, saying it was ok because they loved each other and Mitsu has a bad childhood. But he still raped Yuito (even if Yuito didn't looked that concerned). Honestly, this is what all these yaoi mangas do! Every author who makes these yaois need to stop romanticizing and "softening" rape. And please know that, and I'ma say it again, THE ENDS DON'T JUSTIFY THE MEANS, I swear to god. I honestly would've liked it if they both never got together and Mitsu could've gotten like actual help. I don't care if he had a bad childhood, he shouldn't have done something like that. I would fucking kill for a story like that. *sigh* Oh well. The art was so pretty though. It's so pretty, like the author has soo much talent in the drawing department. Sad to know such talent was wasted ._.
Everyone’s saying that they think Hwan is endgame but honestly, I don’t think so.
The author is trying really hard to make Hwan seem creepy (with all the smirking and weird dialogue). It’s honestly kinda obvious and they wouldn’t do that without having a purpose.
Plus, Jin is just so objectively better than Hwan and he just doesn’t seem like a pointless stereotypical love rival. It would make more since if Hwan was more better in personality than Jin, but that doesn’t seem like the case.
I know that Hwan is on the cover and not Jin, but idk man: maybe it’s because the story starts with the whole motivation of Hwan + Chiwoo getting together but then we find out Hwan’s horrible- idk ╮( ̄▽ ̄)╭ like surprise plot twist ig
If Mc ends up with Hwan Ill die cuz its obvious he's not a good love interest.
agreed and same. Hwan sucks
