I'm THIRSTY for the character development, please give me some.
I don't excuse the horrible things he has done so the only way to try and tolerate it is if he pleads and apologizes sincerely. Doesn't seem like something he would do but we can always hope, right?
Also I wanna know why he is so fucked up. This will help us understand why he is acting the way he is. We won't forgive his actions but we can try to understand how his brain works.
These chapters feel like a drop of water in the desert that's my impatient heart lol.
Can't wait for the next chapters!
P.S the art is immaculate!
I replied this to someone else and I thought I should post it separately for anyone who wants to see the point of view of someone who considers this rape.
Be respectful and kind please.
I'm tired of this whole situation and I really don't want to fight with anyone. I will however share my thoughts.
I acknowledge and respect the fact that people can separate fiction from reality BUT being able to differentiate rape, BDSM and rough play is CRUCIAL. It doesn't matter if you can tolerate it in the name of fiction, still rape. Therefore I don't think anyone is wrong or bad for enjoying a story that includes rape. That was never my point.
1. If authors want to have BDSM elements in their story they need to educate themselves properly. Unfortunately even though this is fiction people can get negatively influenced. It's common to misuse BDSM to excuse rape and it has to stop. This is damaging to the BDSM community.
2. The uke said no multiple times, he was held down against his will and had a dick forcefully shoved in his mouth. He said it hurts and he wants the seme to be more gentle. All of this was completely ignored. To elaborate, firstly they don't know each other that well how can the seme know what the uke wants? That would only be possible after discussing things with him which ofc he didn't cause, yaoi. Even if he is an M there is a proper way and time to handle things. You cannot just decide what to do with someone else's body because you THINK that's what they want. Don't forget that it was his first time too, his poor asshole. Secondly you can give consent and take it back at any time (for anyone who uses the excuse that he went to his house for sex). That doesn't mean anything goes automatically. Thirdly people are also saying he didn't defend himself, that's such a damaging mind-set to real victims. Not everyone has the ability to fight back due to physical strength and/or fear, also maybe sometimes they just shouldn't cause it will put them in more danger. Lastly people are sexual beings so just because they react physically doesn't cancel the rape. If you give consent and want to stop during the intercourse your partner has to listen to you. If not it's rape.
3. No doesn't mean yes. I get what people are trying to imply and it would only be valid in a well communicated sexual relationship. No trust or respect was established in this one. Since the sadistic a-hole didn't stop when he was asked to, then he is no longer just a dickhead but a rapist too. Even if you know someone is more experienced than you or sadistic it doesn't mean you want to be subjected to that at all or to that degree. Boundaries and safe words should have been agreed on beforehand to avoid this mess.
4. People have issues with rapes in all stories whether people are a couple or not. We don't excuse or condone it at all. As we all know being in a relationship doesn't mean you can't get raped. Nothing to do with BDSM like some people tried to insinuate, it just happened to be present in this story.
5. This is yaoiland does anyone really think this will be handled properly? Whatever happened will be swept under the rug since they will eventually get together. Like always. This doesn't cancel out the rape for me and many others. The author's intention doesn't really matter when this is the result. All we ask is for the bare minimum, CONSENT.
I tried my best to explain my point of view in a polite respectful way. I can only ask of you to do the same if you decide to reply. I hope people can understand where I'm coming from.
I'm not shaming anyone who is into BDSM or rough play whether that's fiction or irl. As long as you and your partner consent to it GO AT IT, LIVE YOUR LIFE. I'm happy you have a healthy sex life.
Finally as I said before it's totally OK to enjoy all kinds of stories as long as you can acknowledge when things go wrong. That's all we ask for. Don't deny the blatant rape, abuse etc even if it's in yaoi.
P.S For anyone who says ''well then don't read yaoi'' I have nothing to say to you. You don't get my point, agreed to disagree.
Remember, consent is the sexiest thing when it comes to sex.
Thanks for coming to my Ted talk.
Bro, I respect you so much. I hope more people think like you. I this mesage should be the bible of yaoi conduit. A tear fell down my face while reading this. RESPECT.
I thought a little about what you said, I think they are written to show the difference that choises bring into relationships (like first couple, very nice. Secound future couple, violent and unhealthy.) It shows the HUGE differences between them and they're outcome.
Ok. I have a confession to make. I didn't read the manhwa yet ( and i dont think i want to). Soooo... I dont realy know the plot. Soooo let me get it straigh (pfff... in a yaoi... straight...pff... back to bussines) both couples get rape? (In a way or another?)
Fu*k. ヽ(`Д´)ノ
I understand thatrape iss the easiest way to shock/intrigue/baffle/entertain the audience BUT rape is serious shit, don't throw rape here and there... makes mama sad ╥﹏╥
The first couple is quite cute and there has been consent so far. The side couple was also cute until now. There was teasing but the line was never crossed, until now.
I can't tell you if it's worth a read, that's up to you. It did personally make me feel uncomfortable and I no longer support the second couple. I wish the rape trope would vanish already!
P.S loved your straight joke lol.
I loved the story for the art, plot etc but my main thing was consent. This is a given irl but apparently not in yaoi.
I loved that the top of the side couple would wait for consent and back off when the bottom declined. He never forced himself on him until now. All the progress is gone.
This really ruins their story for me. I'm so disappointed AGAIN ugh.
This is not BDSM or rough sex since not only there wasn't any consent given but the bottom literally said no multiple times. He had to be held down against his will. Whoever is ok with it in general or bEcaUse iT's fICtiON has an issue. Get it fixed.
Just because it's fiction doesn't excuse the situation. My moral compass doesn't leave me just because I read manga. Some of you are scary.
Kinda disappointed for multiple reasons:
1. The age gap, yeah yeah the uke is of age and this is fiction blah blah, sure BUT the seme literally looked after him when he was a kid? Is that strange only to me?
2. He also had a thing for his mom? And does the mom actually know? I would be fuming if I sent my kid to work and he got fucked by someone my age that I trusted
3. Their first time was awful in my opinion. Seme wasn't considerate enough even though he knew the uke was a virgin. Sure the uke liked it but he is a kid who is infatuated with a full grown adult for years now. Unfortunately he would be ok with anything he does to him but that doesn't necessarily mean it's ok. He could have been more gentle and caring
4. No plot, just boring. They was nothing there, I didn't even feel their "love", they were just horny 24/7
5. The whole almost getting raped multiple times is just weird. Also I'm sure if you have gone through something so traumatic even without the penetration you would need time to heal? But nope this is yaoi so let's fuck right after
6. The whole make me your chick thing... just ???
This could have been nice but it was mediocre. Just stating my thoughts, feel free to disagree *politely pls*!
Well I agree with everything written here but a quick reminder that its all just fiction. This genre of manga usually is never realistic. I think as long as it doesnt affect real life we can let the author create any type of situation/plot, and remember that we as the readers are sort of a visitor in their imagination. We should be accepting of whatever there is, since a lot of effort is put into each panel that forms the story. Of course, not agreeing with the content and criticism is always welcomed.
Of course everyone has the right to enjoy whatever they want as long as it's not hurting anyone.
I just saw so many positive comments and after reading it I had to disagree and express my thoughts. The author is super talented and if I remember correctly I loved another of their works. I'm not bashing them or their work.
Also I know it's fiction but my morals and beliefs don't just vanish when I read yaoi, I know some people don't care but I do. I'm not into rapey toxic stories even when it's fictional.
Personal preference for sure.
Ikr. I very much like making controversial comments and debating hddhdhdh.
Anyway, honey you are just explaining what you think and i mean come on, i am not trying to create an argument, but like shotacon is a fiction genre too you know? And a fiction tag doesn't make the work approvable. Doesn't make the work passable. If it is a content which has a audience and that everyone can access to i think authors or editors have to keep in mind that there are that may be influenced by this, young readers especially. I am not saying you should create a content so that families can read it but it is just that content shouldn't suggest immorality.
Yeah like I said I understand why some people pass it off as fiction and are able to enjoy it for what it is but again my personal moral and beliefs don't just vanish because I decided to read a manga lol.
I think it's ok to like certain things as long as you are not hurting anyone.
This one was just not for me. Too many things bothered me, hence my initial comment.
I wanna start off by saying I always avoid these kinds of stories, not my cup of tea. I accidentally started reading this and by the time I realised I read the wrong thing it was a bit too late and I was itching to figure out what was going on.
I didn't actively enjoy reading this cause it was dark, twisted and sad however I'm able to appreciate it for what it is. I don't regret reading it.
I'm happy they got through their issues at the end, I really do but I can't really justify the seme's actions. Of course nothing would justify such things but even in the context we were given I don't get it.
Was the uke manipulative, toxic and an asshole in the past? Sure but that was it. The seme was traumatised by the uke's actions but that's on him. I felt that everything took a dark turn for no apparent reason. Also it seems weird that the uke just forgot everything, for what? Just for being dumped? I know he was deeply hurt in his own way etc but still.
For instance if the uke had hurt the seme in other ways e.g rape I would get the revenge part. Maybe the seme falls in love with the one who hurt him in the past and the uke does as well due to Stockholm syndrome. I still wouldn't like the outcome or justify it but it would make more sense to me.
As the story stands I do think it's worth a read cause it was well written and super interesting but again something didn't click for me all the way.
┑( ̄Д ̄)┍
Mediocre art, questionable plot, interesting characters but cute overall. Nothing amazing really. Towards the end I just wanted it to end hahahah.
Nothing major happens. They basically meet, fall in love, separate and reunite. That's it.
ヾ(☆▽☆)
Definitely not the worst thing I've read. Easy cute read if you are bored.
3/5 ☆
Didn't like how they got together, not into that kind of thing. The seme took it too far.
I do however love their relationship now. The extras were so so sweet. They both matured so much.
A good read overall if you can ignore the first half of the story.
