I don't know but it's just a theory on my part. Remember he has two different colored eyes. One blue I think and one red. I feel he's some sort of mix from something that happened to him. So now the blue eye is his normal human eye just like everyone else. But the red eye is something like the zombie eye. he can sort of see through the eyes of any zombie he wants or even lead them through that.
Considering he knows that. Moreover I feel it's because he's a mixture so he looks human and is human enough but zombies also think he's one of them hence why he says that the MC is safe with him.

My theory he is that boy uke didn't save back in school corridoor and when uke gets to know that he will soften towards seme but seme family be involved in this zombie shit and they experiment on seme and seme run away now in this mount of zombie he has more power and freedom by being overly strong how he hold back his strength not to harm uke as much as possible.
