Her father also mistreats her & ignored her all of her life, only showing love to the bastard he sired with the mistress. Given her childhood & past life trauma, I'm amazed she's still a somewhat mentally stable young women. She wants to be loved, in both lifetimes. But she's terrified of accidentally making the wrong decision & end up being disappointed, hurt, severely injured, or killed. So it's normal that she second guess all of her actions, & she's actually very smart & resilient. Which is why she's managed to survive, throughout her entire torturous ordeal.
