I sorta understand why the nagi was super guarded. He's been through a lot but dude, i just feel so sorry for Kanzaki-san. I mean he was so devoted to him. And for a man who treasure something you gave for five freakin years--where the hell can you find a man like that??? This was a beautiful story but i kind of wish that Kanzaki could've just left him ya know? It could've been just a beautiful story about a beautiful love and how it ended. Where both of them could've just moved on, and found new, simple but lasting love ones and lived happily ever after treating their past as something of a sweet memory. Or maybe if possible they found each other again and ignited the fires of past love... (Ahem hyperventilation... Ahem ahem) anyway i just wished they gave the ending more context not just bam! But didn't the uke gave a text to the seme sending farewells before the seme went to his business trip?? That's why they ended things, the seme was so confused why he suddenly disappeared. And maybe the fact that to this story was mostly centered towards the seme, and only gave us a glimpse of the uke's hardship is the reason why we sympathize more with the seme. The seme fell in love at first sight on their first night. You could see in their faces that they actually both enjoyed the company of each other before the uke decided to suddenly end everything. We do understand the uke and we do understand that he's been through a lot, but i guess you could say we understood the pain that the ignorant felt? Clueless of what he did wrong, or why he was suddenly left alone, the seme was like walking in a dark corridor blindfolded, with having no idea if his light would come back to him or when. Then suddenly nagi returned, but pretended that they had nothing to do to each other. He was hurt since he treasured their memory--the ring was the evidence that he trully did care for him-- but he forgot--or he didn't want to remember. The seme was crushed and confused. He was ready too!!! He was ready to give up on him and respect his wishes. Distance himself and try to move on. But alas the cliches of yaoi romance kicked in. ╮(￣▽￣)╭
Correct me if I'm wrong but the one who left without saying a word was the SEME. When he got those transfer papers he was thinking of texting goodbye or thank you to the uke then suddenly he realizes that he can't do it because he doesn't want to get hurt by falling too deep so he just left without saying anything. If I were the uke, i would feel abandoned and betrayed by someone you thought you'll have a good life together and someone you thought will accept you.
