i don't really get why people are mad that all the new characters are gay or whatever. when you say that it becomes obvious that you consider straight the "default" and when there's more than 1 or 2 gay couples it's "cliche" or "trying too hard." the whole point is that there are so many more lgbt people in the world than we know who feel the need to hide because of societal pressure and it's also no out of the ordinary for people like this to be drawn to each other and become friends.
im really bothered by the people who excuse jowoons actions just because he "loves" haesoo. just because you love someone doesn't mean you lack the capacity to hurt them or be toxic/abusive. i dont think jowoon is a bad person, he's just as flawed as the rest of them, but his flaws make his actions understandable not justifiable which are two different things.
on a different note, i see a lot of people talk about how taku is emotionally manipulative and some even saying hes more toxic than jowoon? i read this a couple months ago and dont remember specific things like that so can anyone remind me of what shady things taku has done? i get thinking he kinda has weird vibes bc he does come off as very stoic and detached but i dont remember ever really thinking of him as manipulative so im interested to hear in other people's thoughts.

that's such a stretch ?? we saw *one* chapter where taku was having sex with one of his ex and his ex was unhappy bc taku couldn't give him the real love that he wanted. taku has clearly issues bonding emotionally but he's never 'used' his exs intentionally

He saw Haesoo in the shop and read his stories, requested to be interviewed by Haesoo specifically knowing about him and his step brother. Finds out his step brother is Choi Joowon from Leo. Says now he's intrigued and has someone else in mind. Tells Haesoo about the sex tape. Doesn't tell Haesoo he saw him before and read the stories before seeking him out. Just that he is a fan. He basically knew that Haesoo is in this situation and vulnerable and seeks him out even though there may be no room for him to intrude.
He asked about Haesoo's first time while they are having sex and then gets jealous about it.
Recently pressured Haesoo with giving him answer, even when Haesoo wanted time and space.
All in a I don't think that K is fishy or a bad person. He is interesting character with his little flaws and quirks. And I believe his feelings are genuine. Now at last.

i'm not really sure why you're pressed? ive seen tons of comments calling jowoon an asshole and also tons of comments saying that jowoon was always acting out of love for haesoo, implying that that made it okay. i dont really see how it matters if a majority isnt saying that, its just something i noticed and was thinking about. my initial post was in response to one specific comment i had in mind at the time that bothered me, yes. again really not relevant how many people think that, just something i felt like discussing. and the other commenter is totally right - lots of comments were implicity justifying jowoons actions. i dont see how the specific users matter to the discussion at all.

I didn't see that post so I can't judge it. It would be nice if you can quote it. You said people, now you say you thought about specific post. I always see users complaining about Joowon's Stans meanwhile Joowon gets the biggest hate and the most exaggerated comments are about his character.
Also saying that Joowon cared or loved Joowon doesn't have to automatically justify his actions. It doesn't work like that. Someone can love and care and still hurt their partner?
im glad that after your unnecessary salty comment you took the time out of your day to list some of taku's behaviors because this is what i was hoping someone would comment about.
to be fair, i think some of these things sound worse to the reader because we know what a terrible situation haesoo was in whereas taku did not. he was just interested in the guy. i dont really find anything wrong with being intrigued or seeking out haesoo specifically. i also dont really see a major issue with the jealousy thing either. i think being jealous is a natural emotion and as long as you behave rationally and dont take it out on your partner then its fine. and yeah the pressuring haesoo thing - definitely not cool. i dont know if id necessarily label him as toxic, especially not compared to jowoon who is just bad for haesoo's well-being. but i definitely agree that taku also has a lot to work on when it comes to relationships and even i can admit something about him seems not genuine? like there's something else he's thinking we have no idea about.
and before i send this i just want to say i am not looking to "prove you wrong" or anything when i offer my disagreements. i can totally understand why some people would be super not okay with taku's behavior. obviously, since i am me, i can only look at these things from my perspective so i ask myself: would the jealousy thing bother me? it wouldnt so therefore i dont really perceive it as something that bad. but i can totally understand that other people may see it completely differently, especially people who have had bad experiences with jealous s/os.

So don't bother with quoting any comment I know both sides can be rather delusional or nasty. Just as I said Joowon's fans are minority so they comments are less in number.
But I sti stand behind that saying that someone cares or loves don't automatically justify his action. Because you can care and love and still hurt someone. These both things can coexist.

and yes, you're right that just saying jowoon loved haesoo doesnt necessarily mean they are justifying his actions. like i said, this is just based on comments i saw where the implicit bias was clear.
just in advance, you shouldnt take your frustration about other peoples comments into someone elses comment section. i totally understand how frustrating it is when it seems like everyone is hating on a character you love and not even bothering to understand them but that has nothing to do with me nor the topic i brought up.

You know it's funny because irl I'm more similar to K in personality and behaviour but I have a weaknesses to characters no one likes or are hated in general. I try to understand them and they rub off on me I guess haha.
