She’s an ass author. She can’t write for shit. She’s the laziest author ever. Her stories are so badly written. Especially Jinx. Jinx is like the biggest cliché ever, to the point I even thought it was some kind of parody (but, to my surprise, it’s not lmao). The only good thing about her is her art style. I can’t argue that her drawings...... 1 reply
The moment there’s noncon or dubcon, I simply can’t continue. It’s not like I mind reading about rape or anything but if it happens between the 2 « lovers » I simply can’t. 1 reply
I remember fighting with a friend. And this fight was a lot for me so I asked for some advices to one of my most mature friend. And she told me something that have been stuck with me ever since. Not only it helped me with my situation but it also helped me a lot with all my relationships (platonic or not). She told me this = people who are really h...... reply
So I have been reading a loooooot of yaoi for years and years. And now I’m much more exigeant than I used to be. And clearly I cannot read about rape anymore. I used to actually love it, then tolerate it and now I simply cannot stand it anymore. And it’s hard because there’s sooooooo many yaoi with rape in it. And it’s so frustrating but also kinda interesting. Like WHY is there 90% of yaoi with rape in it ?
So here’s what I actually think about it.
For me rape as a theme in itself isn’t necessarily a bad thing if it’s treated well it can be quite a complex and interesting subject. But as I said, it’s a really complex subject that has to be treated well AND carefully. But in a looooooot of cases, rape is only used as a means to get the 2 characters together. I feel like the authors lacks in writing skills when they do that, cause they simply can’t create a great chemistry/bond or actually develop a romance between their two characters without them having sex. And since they so NEED to have sex to be able to develop their romance but they don’t have any chemistry (cause they need to have sex to have that), the author will simply use the “easy route”. By that, I mean one character will force the other into having intercourses so the author can finally develop their relationship through that. And to me this is the kind of romance that is soooo badly written. Cause they fall in love because of what exactly? Because “sex is actually so good…” and eventually their bodies are getting “used to them” and so they cannot continue their life without having sex with them anymore… and of course it cannot be anyone else than them… and since the sex is so good, the rapist will become “nicer” at some point (just because of the sex once again, and I’m not talking about the sex at the beginning but at the moment the other guy starts to actually really like it too), and since he’s nicer, the victim will obviously fall even more “in love”. So rape is just a way to make them have sex faster and easier and at no point it’s actually treated as rape because it was only supposed to be used as a “tool” for them to have sex and nothing else. So of course rape become insignificant. The goal was for them to have sex, because they simply cannot have a relationship if they don’t have sex. So how can they have sex (to develop their bond) if they cannot have sex (because of the lack of chemistry) ??? Well easy. You force the situation until it goes your way (so, until it actually becomes a romance and they finally have their chemistry and they finally are in love etc etc). Because sex is the roots of their relationship. I wonder how many BL couples wouldn’t have existed if they didn’t have sex at first? And I mean, it can actually be pretty much ok if the relationship is based on sex, there’s some yaoi that I’m reading where the sex is one of the foundations of the relationship and I absolutely love them !! The only important difference is when the author decides to use the “easy route”, so that they don’t have to actually think about how to put their characters into a situation where they’re having sex naturally without rushing it nor forcing it. Even though sex is important for the relationship, they had to have a little bit of chemistry at first, for them to WANT to have sex together to begin with OR a good enough reason for them to have sex. And when I say “good enough reason” I obviously don’t mean noncon nor dubcon since I have been saying that it is the easiest way to make 2 people with no bonds and no chemistry to sleep together, so there’s really no efforts to make. And so, since it’s such a pain in the ass to actually think about those things, many authors will simply make the ml rapes the mc until the mc likes it.
So yeah, now I know that rape is treated differently in yaoi. It’s not meant to be treated as rape but it’s just an easy way to develop a really badly and effortlessly written story.
Let's be clear I'm talking about comments on mangago (or any other illegal sites) and I'm NOT talking about comments such as "the author and those who like this story disgust me and should go to hell".
Unpopular opinion = People have the right to comment when they don't like the story. The comment section is open for everyone. The purpose of the comment section is for the readers to write of they feel about the story and if they don't like it/don't feel comfortable, I don't see why they shouldn't say it. Especially when it comes to mangago or any other illegal sites because it's not like the comments are directly sent to the authors themselves. Some people say that one should respect the author but they literally read their work on an illegal site??? The audacity. A comment doesn't have to be necessarily nice, it doesn't have to be full of praises and it is NOT disrespectful to comment if you're not comfortable with the story. And there is a difference between insulting the author (which I do not approve of) and saying "I hate this story because of all those reasons". Some people are mad because they feel personally attacked when the comment is not even about them in the first place (and obviously I'm not talking about comments such as "yall disgust me because you like this story"). Also, it seems like they don't know the meaning of freedom of speech. Just because someone disagree with you and/or doesn't have the same tastes as you, doesn't mean that it is disrespectful lmao. They also have the right to comment how they feel. Usually I see some people saying "if you don't like the story, just look for another one but don't leave a comment" but why couldn't they leave a comment??? Just because they have a different opinion???? So you have the right to comment your opinion but if people have a different one, it's forbidden???
Alright, here's my question = Mikasa is obviously in love with Eren but do you think Eren was in love with Mikasa? Some people say that her feelings were mutual and I mean, of course he loves her but to me, it felt more like a platonic kind of love, like brother and sister, like family. He cared about her but do you think he was in love??? And if yes, what make you believe that ? Don't worry about spoiling me, I have read the scans and I'm currently waiting for chapter 139 sooooo...
Opinion = I can't trust people who don't like switching in yaoi. Actually they even piss me off lol. And I will not elaborate on that. I'm so frustrated for this lack of reversability in yaoi just because some people are so tasteless and authors don't wanna make them mad lol. I never forgave this one chapter in BJ Alex.... I so wanted to see them switch Truthfully, I didn't think it was funny to make me believe in an eventual switch, I thought it was mean and frustrating . There is this one yaoi that I absolutely love which is called Under the green light and they're both so fucking damn hot but I just learned that the author won't make them switch BECAUSE APPARENTLY SWITCHING IS CONTROVERSIAL AND NOT TOO FAVOURED BY SOME TASTELESS PEOPLE??????? I. AM. MAD. I needed to vent my anger lol. I NEED MORE SWITCH COUPLES
Hello people! Alright so I was wondering something. In mangago, mangas/webtoons/manhwas are rated and often, those with the highest votes have the prettiest art (and usually they're colorful too) while those with a really old style or with a really "simple" art (like it's not bad but it's not great) are kinda low rated even though the story can be good. So I realized that the drawing actually influenced the votes and how people perceive the story because they'll be like, mesmerized by the art and characters. And for example, many people like potn because the art is pretty and the characters are hot. So here's my question = Would you actually like this yaoi if the art wasn't pretty? Like, would you find this story genuinely enjoyable and interesting if the art was like... you know the really old style yaoi with bad proportions and all this shit?
I'm not looking for a fight, I'm genuinely curious. So please be nice and honest
