she doesn't know, she's doesn't know ANYTHING. it annoys me to some point but we have to keep in mind that the duke is the one behind jennette's naivety. he didn't even let her out, and she's way lacking in proper education simply because he wants her to be lowkey. everyone told her she was claude's daughter since birth, she had no choice but to believe it. and you don't "work hard" to earn someone's affection wtf, that's messed up. i wished she just has a happy ending with anastasius
Penelope Judith is Jennette’s birth mom. She is the one who gave birth to Jennette via black magic after cheating on Claude (was his fiancé ) with his brother anaticus since she wanted the throne. And honestly Jeannette is A very shy character , and naive. I feel like she wants too much and not enough , like it’s understandable but also delusional. I feel like she is a character who does more harm than good at times.
I don't hate hate her tho, she's desperate cause she wants a family, she wants that warmth of having someone like how athy has claude or like how Ezekiel has his dad.
honestly I mostly blame the adults, not her cause she was unfortunately raised to believe that her dad is claude so she held into that because again, she wants a family

Honestly I would like her more as a character if she wasn’t as naive , like she is the cliched protagonist, and that’s why a lot of readers don’t like her. Athy breaks the mold and that’s why a lot of love her. If at the end she had a happy ending it would really nice, but she needs to work on her self. I agree the Duke is def the villain , power hungry dog.
lmaoo aren't you just calling athy a "not like other girls" person? athy is 100% a mary sue, she's just like the other heroines, but i love her. if jennette wasn't naive, she wouldn't be easily exploited by others and that would be a problem for the duke, anastasius and aeternitas. after all, she was clearly created by anastasius to kill claude. so why are people hating her instead of anastasius? :/
No I mean like in the manga archetype , there a specific formula a lot stories fall into with the strong female lead. I just appreciate that this manga was one of the ones that really started to break the molds of I’m not going to continue the same story and that athy used her resources and got herself a support system. We do hate Anastasius and mr. white (lol) but jennette is like a spy character that is morally grey enough that she invokes a lot of strong feelings for readers. You and I are on opposite sides and that’s ok , we may never see eye to eye but you and I both equally love this manga and are passionate enough to talk about our opposing views. I think Jeannette is a play on the naivety means ignorance means innocence cliche and that’s why people hate it , like rashta , another character that really just wanted to survive but gets a crap ton a hate too. I personally wouldn't call Athy a Mary Sue. She *is* extraordinary but by no means unbeatable, whether it is intellectually or physically. I'd rather call the black magician bitch uncle the Mary Sue here lol.
But I do agree, it sucks that Jean is hated like that. It's pretty clear that most of what's going on is out of her grasp entirely. She didn't chose to be born like this, nor did she have the option to escape the golden cage she was locked in, much less have a broader perspective of the world- she doesn't have memories of her past life like Athy does, after all.

i think spoon wanted to give more screen time + character development to the side characters. after all, not only the main character matters. it's ridiculous how people hate on spoon for giving jennette some screen time for her development
