This whole story was a side quest for the goblin slayer with her as the quest giver(NPC) at the end of the quest she has fulfilled her mission. Like in RP the quest giver/helper after the mission the GM makes them well leave/dissapear/go do something else.
and here this time again we see how humble and self-sacrificing our noble heroic Desir is.
