Nahhh I understand u. I don't enjoy it either. I enjoy both yuri and yaoi but I fucking hate it when they try to make it heteronormative. Like I read a omegaverse yuri and the told was basically a skinny dude with big tiddies and long hai, didn't even read past 6 chapters of that shit.
i don't agree w/ you entirely but ialso don't really like omegaverse bc it really gives an excuse like you said to make omegas super small and dainty with no will-power at all. it's okay to have a masculine top and a feminine bottom but i feel like in omegaverses you often see a really big, almost stereotypical depiction of that. as you said it really can feed into heteronormative tendencies.

that's what i don't really agree w the smell pheromones thing, but i don't mind feminine gay men but i think in a lot of bl's they tend to make the feminine men look especially small and weaker. or even somewhat childlike. i feel that is more of what this person is trying to get at. they tack on the same plotline and personality traits to a lot of the feminine men in bls which to me gets old

Second, in general, chinese drama is always long, because they’re like soap opera.
But if you find a good manhua adapted from Novel, normally they’re good even if its long.
the economic side aside, from what i noticed, they like to get really detailed. and quite repeatitive. like even the extras get a lot of screen time. the villains had unusually long ass scene, they like to drag everything. thats why sometimes they have the most indepth depiction of, for example, feelings. and they also like to repeat plot. like the mc repeatedly getting bullied in 99 diff situations (get baited, then bullied, then mc magically overcome the situation, then repeat)
