The Daughter of the Elemental King
Chapter 95
A really interesting story….or we’ll it was at the very beginning. I was really invested and kept this webtoon on a watch because I loved the story, watching her personality grow and change with being alone and having a bit of a childish side to her while also being mature, confident, and strong was perfect. However right after she departs from Joel I think is when it started going downhill. The author completely destroyed any story they had left, turned the mc into someone lazy (when before she wanted to learn as much as she could but now she’s just using her title as the water spirit’s daughter to force spirits to make her look more powerful than she is because she doesn’t want to put in the effort) and grow even more childish (like flipping a boat over because her friends were having fun without her when she literally could just ask to join them) when I thought she’d grow more mature over time (cuz yknow she’s like 15 or something and she’d grow more wise as it continues) and the art started getting lazy, like at first the art was beautiful, making everything look amazing and detailed (for example, her hair actually looked like the water and would naturally float with her clothes like water too even if she weren’t underwater) but then it turned fully chibi, no more backgrounds except in one panel per chapter, and everything just turned to this or that color without the details that made it special. Even made every character look the same. So yup lost the good storyline it was chasing, the good romance it was chasing, introduced a lot of unnecessary characters, made everyone more childish, made the mc INCREDIBLY lazy, added random ass events out of nowhere that made no sense to the story, and completely destroyed every love I had for this webtoon. However due to the respect of the first quarter and how amazing it was (plus I’m kinda hoping it returns back to how it was) I’ll continue reading. But I’m extremely disappointed with how it turned out.
Another common case of a comic turning bad over time rather than good
Haemin is the only good character….the author knew this…and got rid of him and made him annoying. God why does the author like to destroy good characters, I even liked Joel until he straight up stood there dumbfounded when the mc got framed.
Also just a reminder that the strong female lead went to a weak annoying and lazy female lead with so many plot holes (like how are you female if your body is gender less and you were female in another world) because the author was too lazy to fix it. Only reminded you because I keep seeing the tag above me that says “strong female lead” because I don’t know if you can count that if she’s strong for like 10 chapters
