FACTS, like omg I love a straight romance here and there but why is it all the same plot and stuff, like the whole reason I turn to bl so much is because at this point it’s more original than hetero these days so I might as well while waiting for something good to come to my attention (I’m just a sucker for anything romance, gay or straight haha) I totally get people being dead set on bl so I appreciate the thought, but they are missing on some PRETTY good hetero ones. Literally that's why I started reading strictly BL for like 4 years straight. Hetero just got sooo predictable. BL stories have so much creativity, usually because their relationship is taboo lol. But I've been getting back into hetero tho, been super into strong female leads lately. But yeah there is a problem with normalizing red flags in BL, only way you can really avoid it is shounen ai otherwise you're basically guaranteed a red flag or two, I've gotten so desensitized -_- but I'm a sucker for the 18+, shounen ai usually lacks passion and feels more bromancy, def some good ones out there for sure though. I'm also a romance nut, basically, if not actually, the only genre a read, rom-com, horror romance, phycological romance, sci-fi romance, if it got romance I don't really gaf what it's mixed with. I've read everything lol and I also agree this ones pretty good, I little unusual with the plot but it is entertaining haha

Oh my god you’re literally reading my mind HAHA I try to like go back to straight romance here and there as a way to like check on the genre so I try not to stay away from it for too long and honestly sometimes I find some historical genres that are actually REALLY good and unique. I’m a fan of string female leads but I started hating how they started taking away from the male leads because of the female lead being strong, like, I kinda just enjoy them both being strong and tackling the world together, like making up for each others’ weaknesses type stuff. The red flags in bl like I can KINDA enjoy if like they do it correctly, like I think Waterside Night was pretty good when it came to dealing with red flags and his redemption but yeah there’s some like Jinx that I’m like “why are people reading this?” Where it like doesn’t even feel like a romance but some weird torture porn. I like yanderes and tsunderes as much as the other guy but like, I feel like there’s a point where it stops being a romance and that’s been like a majority that I’ve read, there ain’t no Stockholm syndrome in that. I also totally agree with liking yaoi more than shounen ai, you literally took the words outta me, like I don’t care for like porn or whatever but they really do go so hard on making the romance amazing and deepening the relationship if they do. I actually straight up avoid Chinese manhwas because of that cuz not only do they avoid 18+ stuff but they also avoid kissing and it’s like, there ain’t no romance at all at that point, at least shounen ai can have kissing and insinuate 18+ stuff. I’m so glad to meet another romance person cuz I’ve read it all too HAHA and you can tell it’s been a while since I’ve talked about this LOL (sorry for my paragraphs) also glad to know I’m not the only one who saw some odd parts in this but I’ve just been shutting my brain off and laughing at them at this point, I’ve seen weirder

Lmao don't worry about it, I was worried I was talking to much haha but yeah I can kinda agree with female leads taking away from male leads. And sometimes they make a female lead too tsundere like and it's just makes me feel bad for the ML. Might as well just not make it a romance and just make it a badass action story where the female is the savior or something. I'm mainly a fan of the redemption arc, for both hetero and BL. And I totally agree that waterside night dealt with the toxicity really well, like it's still very much toxic and it's not at all realistic for real life but it's fiction, I mean it is Omegaverse lol The author made it work the best way possible with actually reflection, regret, and redemption, but in real life it just wouldn't be possible as he probably wouldn't have actual reflection, regret, or redemption. So even though I usually try to stay away from SA, Waterside Night is an exception of mine. And don't even get me started on jinx I was so excited for it because I love BJ Alex but omfg it's actually horrible, there will be no valid redemption I hope the ml dies, I stopped reading it so fckn fast it was horrendous. Kinda similar to "Love History Caused by Willful Negligence" which had a good plot and potential for redemption only for it to turn to actual disgusting rape, not dub-con just straight up rape. Or another one "Beware of the Full Moon In March" this one is a little better with redemption but author didn't pull it off well and I hate the ML, he acts like a spoiled brat and kinda blames MC a lot, love the MC though. But yeah sex just really depends the relationship but sadly there's not a lot of stories without some sort of weird dub-con section that throws me off, or the bottom constantly saying "no" or "stop" like why can't authors ever make bottoms actually enjoy sex -_- but when you find a good one story with everything having the perfect balance of drama, angst, redemption, consensual sex, it's just chefs kiss. And I also avoid Chinese manhwa one exception of mine is "my father in law is my wife" though the story has gotten a little strange, and I feel like the translation just keeps getting worse They actually do kiss and insinuate sex and the couple is so cute I'd recommend there's an age gap obviously but everything's consensual and legal. Side couple though, is weird ASF haha And I also haven't met a romance person either or someone with the same views of Romance it's really refreshing to talk about this haha and yeah def seen weirder this one is just a good laugh with a bit of confusion ┐(￣ヘ￣)┌

Nah man if anything it’s refreshing to find someone who talks as much as me HAHA makes me feel like I’m not onesidedly excited about something. And like I TOTALLY AGREE WITH YOU like oh my god I’ve been praying for a romance where the mc is a guy because like I’m so sick and tired of the same weird strong female lead (the wrong type of course, the right type is of course always in my list of favorites but yknow how rare that is) and like honestly as long as it’s not the weird harem trope I would much prefer the girl being weak and innocent cuz like AT LEAST ITS REFRESHING rather than guy being princess carried like 30 times in 30 different manhwas, like PLEASEEE, especially when they make the ml like “omg he’s the strongest in the empire” like it’s cute the first few times when it’s the tough guy everyone’s scared of is weak to the smallest girl with brains of the next Einstein because she reincarnated or isekaied, but holy moly it’s the same trope. Honestly I’m even just tired of the whole reincarnated or isekai trope because like a majority of the stuff I’ve read doesn’t even like, use that information like “father I don’t want this marriage” (which is my pfp) literally starts off with the mc isekai into a novel and THEY FORGET ABOUT IT AFTER 15 CHAPTERS LIKE??? THEN WHY WAS IT ADDED??? But hey at least it was really good and the ending got me tearing up every time I reread it so I can’t hate it too much. And I agree with your point on Waterside Night, like it really sucked at the beginning because of the obvious reasons but I think they did a semi-more realistic take of SA turn into romance where like, there was no forgiveness, trauma did turn into scars, and they were able to find happiness through all that while keeping that with them and I think that it was perfect ┗( T﹏T )┛at least compared to the other SA listed LOL, like I try to give them a shot especially since I can mentally handle a majority of them in HOPES of a good redemption but yeah there have been ones where it was like NAH, Jinx, Killing Stalking, and fuck it more recently, Unfinished Business I mean I LEFT it to marinate for a bit so I didn’t have to torture myself with every new chapter and I check in and BRO LITERALLY SNAPPED HIS ANKLE LIKE IT SHOWED IT while SAing him and it’s like bro, there ain’t no redemption for that. Oh please do, go back and read Hold me tight, it's now completed and I love how the story just evolves. Sure it's got lots of sexy time. But it has a good plot. At least I think so. I also am just not a big fan of rivals in general, sure have rivals but I hate it when they intentionally try to break up the main couple. Romance is NOT that deep in real life holy moly

I absolutely love action and fantasy. I also love science-fiction.. now i am not a fan of horror. But I love me a good supernatural story. I been getting the kick of a well written esper/guide stories. Alot are mostly stupid. But you do find those wonderful rare gems.

Some times I read the action/fantasy story for the ridiculous overpowered mc. To me they are hilarious, and I want a very good chuckle.

As for the solo leveling anime. I was alittle upset with it. It's good, but it a Korean story/manhwa. But it's voice and produced by the Japanese (the producing i have no problem) but they used San, sama, chan. As honorifics instead of the Korean honorifics. It was a lovely time to let Korean voice actors shine.

Yeah I totally agree that sometimes poly is good if done right but like I’ve only ever seen like one that did is correctly LOL the other times I’ve seen it is the whole two semes fighting for the uke which ends ups with one seme and the uke dating and every time the uke is with the other seme or they’re 3p it’s literally just cheating, like Turn off the Camera is a good example of that and honestly just scarred me to avoid poly LOL but I did enjoy Top or Bottom, that was a good one for a semi, middle, and uke, seems like a unicorn though

No worries, I hardly stick out the romance genre either lol and if I do it’s for some highly recommended thing or a manga to an anime. But yeah solo leveling was and still is pretty good, they recently came out with an anime which isn’t too bad so if you don’t want to read it, that’s always an option lol, but I do recommend it if you want to change things up a bit!

Nah I totally get it, I’m heartbroken over the artist too but if he truly was just getting overpaid I’m glad he stopped, and the current artist apparently practiced that entire hiatus period of a year to get as close as possible to the style and they’re at an important part of the story so I can’t stay mad at it cuz it seems like they’re trying. It’s true they’ll never be able to have that immaculate and unique art style, but at least the new artist isn’t bad at art and wants us to have another memorable style even if it’s not the OG.
I branch out sometimes too, not enough to have more hidden gems like you do lol but enough to talk about some! Apparently though, looking at my list of ones I’ve read, I only branched out to the “take me seriously” comedy ones LOL I have tried one horror one which was really good until it became supernatural, it was crazy, but I’d be down to read any if you have any recommendations!
I totally didn’t know they did that in the anime, well duh of course anime is Japanese, but I mean I only watched the dub because I watched it with my dub-only friends, I’ll have to check that out cuz that is weird. I was more worried that they wouldn’t give it any love because it’s a completed manhwa and not Japanese but they surprisingly kept it true to the manhwa while adding scenes that weren’t shown but talked about in the manhwa and I think that was pretty cool, like yeah it is odd a Korean manhwa is adapted to a Japanese anime, but compared to other countries that have done similar things and screw it up, it seems like Japan really wants to make it good which I can respect, the honorifics are probably because it’s in their language (could be wrong, I’m not smart at all when it comes to stuff like this), they did keep all the cast located in Korea though which I like!

I have a lot of manga/manwha save as either reading, want to read or have read. I'm pretty sure I would have to look in my own list to remember what I have. I'm not going to lie, from when I first started reading on here to now, my taste have change. Some stories I will get invested into and then almost half way through drop them, because I don't like them anymore. It happens quiet frequently. It doesn't matter weather it a bl/herto/ or non romance at all. If it stop being interesting that is the doom of a book to me. And I cry.

Yeah, I don’t follow social media either and it’s collecting dust on mine too but the extra before the artists change was where he explained the pay wasn’t cutting it anymore and they were going in a direction he didn’t wanna follow so he had to go, and then the comments after that explained in more detail and gave information that the new artist was going to try hard to match it for us and stuff, don’t know if you wanna trust that but that’s the most reasonable answer I got from it LOL
Ay you should let me know how it goes cuz honestly the dub wasn’t that bad, I think it was pretty solid (like no bad VAs from what I remember) and of course I gotta look at it positively, solo leveling’s my goat

I do have a couple of recommendations. If you like a green flag ML which i feel is rare in bl romance.

The "Love Gym" is one, it's got really corny moments but I love it. The ML is such golden retriever attitude vs the MCs cat like personality.

Another great one, and it's an omegaverse, is "The Rouge prince is Secretly an omega" it is chefs kiss for me. The dad and mom can both fuck off but the couple are amazing. And the ML does what we all want, tells the MCs dad off.

I am obsessed with "My In-laws are obsessed with me" it's got a very good plot, at it's a very rough start. But just let that go, there are reasons explained later, and the Mc understand and there are apologies from the ML. It's amazing. I love it.

Have you guys read Kiraide Isasete, it’s literally my favorite omegaverse EVER with like best everything despite having sad backstories for the characters TRUST me it’s a REALLY good one that genuinely when it was ongoing, fr the only manhwa I never wanted to end, like idgaf if they milked it I wanted it to keep going until my deathbed it’s that cute

It moves at snail pace with super short chapters, not at all 18+ but I love the second couple so fkn much. First couple is cute but very much bromance vibes where as second couple has passion and I just love them so much, it's another Chinese manhua exception of mine, I'll be very surprised if you don't know it lol it's basically on the front page 80% of the time, especially when it updates.

Kiraide Isasete is my all time favorite omegaverse!! I love it!!! I go back and read it just for the warmth that it gives me. The story is just so freaking cute. It pulls out such emotion from me.

I have the hardest time following the Chinese manhuas. The are is absolutely beautiful, but i get so lost in what is happening in the story. I have tried reading about a good 5 or 6 of them. Like villian scumbag, moz something(I can't remember the whole name) I just couldn't follow it. And I read a good many chapters to see if it was just bad uploads. Nope I'm just having problems understand that style.

Oh god yeah I’ve seen 19 days but 400 chapters???? Bro is practically begging me to read the One Piece of BL Σ( ￣□￣||) I mean it’s on my list to read so I have no doubt it’s good especially since it’s on the front page every day and it’s classic Chinese manhua fashions to make it really long and slow but I promise you, one of these days, one of these days HAHA.
Also yes you totally should!!! I get why, it’s a little rushed at the beginning because I’m guessing they only expected to have one or two volumes (6 chapters per volume) so they rushed the whole story into one volume and then came back with more, but it’s the coming back with more that is REALLY cute, especially the children so yessss you totally should go back to it
