Even her mother said “it’s the fault of the emperor AND the husband.” I feel like the best ending would have had her living with her daughter far away, able to meet people and have freedom. Beautiful story but the set up for everything felt terrible
What do you mean? She got her freedom...Her freedom was to be able get away from the emperor and his control... technically she did and if she didn't get the generals help in ANYTHING her power would be probably be detected and she'll have and even more horrible life under the emperor's control
