Yes, I agree with your thoughts that doesn't make an excuse for doing that at least she's not unlike the mother's I've read that they hurt and mistreat their child. She choose to ignore him but she still cared or thought of him first like why can't she cared for his son even thou his her son. Even thou her thought drowning her to her depression she still thought of him. She still thought about her son based on the flashbacks especially when her death came near but it was too late cause there was no one help her to think about to care about his son, yes her sister did that but the damage has done. Like who could handle death of your father-in-law, father then got attacked verbally by the other family members of your husband and lastly your Uncle-in-law got killed by your husband in front of you while pregnant?
