This soooo much better than the rating makes it seem
It illustrates the issues of desperation, abuse and societal hierarchies in a really relatable and emotive way ( T﹏T )
Anyone else continue to feel sorry for the nephew and hope he's allowed to return home?? Out of the loneliness of the academy and brainwashing of his mum?
Just feels like *a lot* of adults are projecting their anger towards his mother
onto him ╥﹏╥
I'm sorry but the misery the MC endured and the bigotry & discrimination Omegas *still* endure in the country
I took a break from reading and sooo much happened
Folks, my memory is horrid today. Why did the crown prince make a deal with a demon?
I've said it before and I'll say it again:
Why do authors make MLs so unlikable??
Why do they make the redemption arc sooo incredibly hard on themselves??
Like, even if I wanted to defend the ML...I can't Dude has been rude, unstable, entitled and just generally mean to the FL.
Then the sudden overwhelming obsessiveness?? Dude #-.-)
Chase isn't even just a '2nd male lead', he's been the constant kindness, care and genuine friend the FL has had...
I'm just baffled lol
Whelp, that was a bloody rollercoaster
But...I kinda loved it Nothing dragged. It was fast, but each arc felt completed.
This has been a surprisingly great read, with wayyy more depth than I initially gave it credit for ヾ(❀╹◡╹)ノ~
One complaint the scene with the dubious consent didn't need to happen. His frustration and angry were already illustrated, going to those lengths was unneeded
So I stopped reading this, because it just didn't sit right with me...
The abuse of the FL and the SA of the Duke. It just...Yeah... No.
But I just checked and I haven't seen anything to disprove him having been SA'd by her mother so far...
Now before you sharpen your pitchforks, I will say though that 2 things can be true at the same time:
-The FL didn't deserve ANY of the hate and suffering she endured.
-The Duke IS a victim and survivor of SA.
If the manhwa leaves the Duke being SA'd out I'll be ecstatic. The way the author has depicted the legacy of SA and trauma isn't helpful.
And sometimes representation can do more harm than good.
Some of the complaints for this manga are weird
A lot of the issues the FL dealt with are arguably historically accurate ╮( ̄▽ ̄)╭
Women *WERE* judged on their demeanour, facial expressions and attendance at important events.
If someone was ill, particularly a woman you *WERE* likely to be cast aside as a marriage candidate. So choices with regard to this make sense.
Really I commend the author for being representative of the historic and continued issue of unrealistic beauty standards on women.
Some of the earlier spoilers on here said he was SA by the FL's mum, who was paid by someone to bring the dad down.
Is that not true?? Did he instead cheat??
This author/artist tends to work on plots where the MC has a principle partner, but *SOMETHING* happens and they're forced to sleep with someone else
Have you guys not read manhuas before?? This is what they do
They use every trope in the book to keep extending the manhua, till readers can't keep up with the names anymore
At least the issues are sorted out relatively quickly and easily. Moreover, the angst level is low so it's an easy read to binge on(●'◡'●)
Wait is the MC's sister, the daughter of the duke as well? As in they're biologically half sisters?
Also, regardless of whether she is biologically his child he remains a sucky dad
Is the plot original? No. Should we have guessed from the cover and description? Heck, yes!
Lol, so many complaints act as if the manga told any lies from the onset
It's *exactly* what it says on the tin: a smut filled romance with basic character stereotypes and basic character progression. ╮( ̄▽ ̄)╭
If that's not your bag, fair enough. Don't read it.
ヾ(☆▽☆)
But to imply the manga has in some way failed to deliver or led you astray, is hilarious
Season one is OVER?!! But! But barely anything happened (╯°Д °)╯╧╧
I ADORE the art and characters. There's sooo much potential and angst, but we're moving sooo slowly
I think the dynamic of the household she's married into is very unique.
I like that the MC even after experiencing so much hardship still is fighting to find her own definition of it.
A slow and relatable MC character development IMO ╮( ̄▽ ̄)╭
As a former policy student this is tickling my brain in the best way (づ ̄ ³ ̄)づ
I love that even if her ideas do become successful, we see a realistic portrayal of the hoops bureaucrats & policymakers at times have to jump through.
Particularly, at a place and time with misogynistic ideals & a patriarchal society at its height.
Definitely an underrated gem
So wait did the ML's father cheat on the Duchess (his wife)? Or did the ML's mum in some way charm him or something? Is that why the Duchess hates the ML??
