He would be subject to trial and most likely still get punished even if he was manipulated into it. The kingdom’s noblemen especially those who support the king and rishar will then basically have all the permission to investigate everybody involved in the house herace schemes and at this point theres an incredible amount of crimes there and that would leave no excuses for anyone including Etienne. They’ll all be sent to execution even and who knows what Etienne’s mother, someone close to him and has complete power to harm him, would do if he laid out the dirt she’s been doing.
