In Lucien's defense (because y'all be calling her stupid and shit), not only is she probably in shock that she's the princess and trying to both sort out her memories AND deal with Isle threatening her at the same time, but she also just found out that Isle is also a reincarnator, specifically in the same loop she's in? I'm not surprised she tried to appeal to his soul as the princess in hopes that maybe he can break through it like Luciencia made her remember, or at the very least he can just FEEL that she's telling the truth somehow.

god.......I'm not usually a stickler for quality, but this site has GOT to stop ripping from Manga3s, they've killed like three series that I really love with awful scans and I'm sick of it

This!! I'm so sick of seeing their translations, I immediately know it's gonna be horrible. Images are blurry as hell and translation is garbage. I wouldn't even mind the blurry quality or the horrible cleaning job if the translation was good. Also, those who say this is fine and understand it well: not everyone's first language is english so when sometimes even well-written sentences are hard to understand for non-native speakers, imagine the struggle to understand this dumpster fire. I'd rather wait for a good translation than worse-than-google-translate quality. ╮( ̄▽ ̄)╭
ML, whose backstory hasn't been revealed yet: Stay away from me and we'll be chill
Abigail (not FL): abuses his daughter, throws bitch fits because he won't sleep with her, eats fucking POISON to get his attention
ML: yeah no I fucking hate your guts bye
y'all: UGH HE'S SO HORRIBLE AND GROSS
me: are we reading the same thing??????
You know, the worst thing is that he didn't even hate her! As he threw the flower in her coffin, he thought that it was a pity that she ruined her life on him. Dude just needed some space and time. But OG Abigail was just too impulsive and hurt to even bother (plus pressure from family and a younger rival trying to take her place)
Ik that but, some of that attitude was because of his actions, he also neglected his daughter, if he truly cared about her he would've stepped in and stopped the abuse
I'm not saying she was a nice women and it's all his fault, but he's not clean either
Uh, are you???
He neglected his fucking daughter and let her get abused. I don't care what sad past he has and how horrible his relationship was with his first wife, but that is inexcusable
I mean, we're two chapters in, we obviously don't know the full story- I agree that he probably could've done more for Blanche as far as Abigail's abuse was concerned, but considering we see him interact with her for one panel and the context is he's coming to meet Abigail to accuse her of poisoning herself, we don't even know what he HAS done yet.
We don't know how he interacts with Blanche without Abigail in the picture. Heck, we don't even know how his interactions with Blanche were /before/ FL took over Abigail's body, since the only time we see Blanche and the ML together is that one scene. Am I saying the ML a saint and has to be forgiven for whatever he does? Absolutely not, but people are running with the same "ugh ML is shit as always" line when his actions so far have been reasonable (for a human with flaws like everyone else).
Don't want to make another topic so soon, so I'm just gonna add this after reading ch3:
Honestly, I'm not gonna go too far into my own Tragic Backstory, but manhwa like these, where parents who aren't the best (maybe not Get In The Fucking Robot levels bad, but obviously not as good as they can be) get the chance to reconcile with their kids and strive to be better are cathartic as fuck, and it's just absolutely frustrating, as somebody who USED to be on Blanche's side of a bad familial relationship and knows that abuse is a very hard cycle to break, to see people not even giving him a chance.
The ML is not a saint. I will never claim he is. But I do believe he's human, and that people can stand to give manhwa characters in general a bit more humanity than the 2D "Good Guy vs Bad Guy" morality schtick.
Bitch.
I'm sorry that happened
I can't say i know how you feel because I haven't been through what you experienced
But what i meant wasn't that he was also abusive or hated his daughter, he just neglected his role as a husband (but from what I heard from others is that his backstory has to do with it) and as a father, fine, we don't know what he did for her, but we do know he didn't stop his wife from abusing his daughter, even if he didn't want the child, he still needs to take responsibility because it's not the child's fault, they clearly didn't ask to be born.
Why so heated? They're just sharing their opinion, no need to fight about it....
Lol yep thought the same
Like the original Abigail was much worse. She would also mentally abuse Blanche.
Also I read the novel lol so it doesn't help that I already know the background of each character. The more they'll know about the King the more they'll warm up to him. He's a cute cinnamon roll.
