OOF. I feel bad for the older brother tbh. Having someone hide a hige part of themselves from you always stings a bit bit it hurts a lot more when they say it was because they were afraid of your reaction. My bestfriend hid she was gay from me for 2 years. I have never been one to make any rude comments or show any bias towards the LGBTQ+ community so when I found out ( we have eachother snapchat passwords and she had asked me to do her streaks while on vacation and I received a pic from her girlfriend @ the time) I was floored as to why she wouldnt tell me. Eventually I asked her about it and she looked terrified. Which somehow hurt me even more. She told me she thought I would hate her or never talk to her again. Honestly I started crying before she even could. I was hurt and kind of mad she thought that way but I also felt SUPER guilty. Because I must have done SOMETHING to make her feel that way. It was a hard time for us both for a bit but we are still friends now
