he overhear her conversation about how the bitch changed the meat

Spoilers, I will split it into 2-3 replies




Despite the mistresses attempt to switch out the meat with pork during the envoys visit, the empress finds out and prevents it from happening. During the dinner with the envoys Rosemond is pissed off that her plan failed and leaves in the middle of it. The empress excuses herself for a bit, follows Rosemond and slaps the shit out of her while warning her that this was the last time she’ll let her go and she needs to watch herself. Of course Rosemond is too arrogant and stupid to listen to her. After the whole dinner the emperor goes to Rosemonds room and finds her crying and he’s pissed, asking her who made her cry n shit. He figures that’s it the empress and is makes his way over to the empresses room very angrily. Before he enters he overhears the empress and her knight talking about how Rosemond tried to switch out the meat with pork and almost started a war with another country. The emperor doesn’t get mad at the empress, awkwardly asks how she’s doing n heads out.

Some interaactions between the emperor and empress, yadda yadda. It’s not very entertaining imo, just whatever. I’m gonna skip to the bigger events.

There’s this hunting event and the empress and emperor are participating in it. While hunting, the two bump into each other when they shoot the same deer or something. Then they get attacked by assassins and surprise surprise they were hired by Rosemond to kill the empress! Luckily both the emperor and empress get away, but the emperor is injured and the empress doesn’t have a choice but to save him since she doesn’t want to be accused or something. After some painstaking efforts, she tries to nurse him from his fever, plu he was struck by a poisoned arrow. He wakes up and the empress sort of explains the situation and asks him “who do you think did this” and he finally acknowledges that it was Rosemond. The two make their way back to everyone else and everyone is rushing to save the emperor and the empress basically exposes Rosemond for being the one to hire assassins. And the novel stops there

Well at least the Emperor fucking listens for once.
