because the first chapter isn't the same life as the latest chapter. the life is completely different so it changed their physical form. the cp was kept safe by the mc so he didn't feel the need to really become physical stringer than he already is, same with the mc his goal is no longer a mercenary so all the heavy lifting and combat he used to do is gone
