yiseon’s continuous break downs and depressive slopes added a touch of, i want to say tension but that’s not the correct word… maybe like anxiety? but not exactly. from the very start yiseon is not Well. he’s as stated in the story, suffering from ptsd but he’s also depressed and suicidal. and he stays that way for almost the whole story and its also not like he get better completely by the end either. its… nice to a character be affected so severely by their experiences.
also. hyeon is a literal psychopath and he needs to stop staring at me.
pil-gyun is levels of psychotic i have never encountered. sometimes i just wanted him to look away, being beautiful cant always save u bc i think he needs to die.
the fact that pil-gyun called nanmu by his name like 3 times in the course of the ENTIRE 71 chapters blows my mind. they’re both fucking ditch-deep bonkers bc why is nanmu encouraging the relationship. a perfect execution of “matching their freak”
there’s this thing that bwat did in this manhwa and also in smyrna & capri (not sure about the spelling of that fuck ass word) where the bottoms have this hard and hurtful relationship with sex and it’s well, I don’t want to say “dealt with” but it’s treated with respect and care. maybe not the normal care here, BUT pil-gyun doesn’t penetrate nanmu at first bc he noticed nanmu’s fear for it and instead uses his fingers and mouth to introduce pleasure into sex. even though in the beginning he didnt know that nanmu was gang raped, pil-gyun sees the fear and soothes it out of respect and love they way it should always be done.
of course we also have nanmu’s horrible self esteem issues and how he views himself, ESPECIALLY in a sexual manner, again bc of the rape. while it seems to be a somewhat present issue even in the end (those types of feelings and thoughts don’t just disappear). the way nanmu dealt with the trauma was by reclaiming some autonomy by having regular anal sex with the men he felt safe during the gang rape, his brothers. i honestly cheered when nanmu was clearly starting to enjoy sex bc it was established that it wasnt something he Liked. i mean, it was clear he Hated it.
sure, part of the reason why it worked out was bc they’re both insane and twisted and frankly unable to have normal relationships. but its also bc pil-gyun was so adamant with his praise and reassurance and tried his best to make sex pleasurable for nanmu. OF COURSE let’s not forget that they’re sex is consensual, maybe not 100% from the start bc it seemed like nanmu was just doing it get pil-gyun off his back but the fact remains that eventually nammu WANTED to have sex bc it felt good and he felt desirable (bc of how insistent pil-gyun was about it) and i just think it’s beautiful.
this story is all levels of fucked but nanmu’s healing of his sexual trauma and rape is honestly wonderful, weird pseudo incest out of the way its golden.

its basically a set of stories with characters that live in the “gwanggong apartment complex” sometimes the stories share characters between them though i saw that happen once, maybe twince. BUT the main connection is that one or both characters live in this apartment complex. another common thread with the stories in the anthology is that they sometimes involve dark or extreme… situations? sexual acts?
for example, one story from the anthology is about the mc (who has a high sex drive) becoming the ml’s temporary housekeeper and being caught masturbating by the ml and thus starting a sexual relationship, which if i remember correctly is fairly consensual, though not entirely. it’s been a while since since i read it :/.
on the other hand we have a story where the mc gets in some sort of trouble with the ml and is essentially tortured (haven’t read it in a while but im pretty sure he is) and is forced into a brutal BDSM relationship with the ml.
there are other examples of this, but most of the stories are well… fucked up. this story is weird and messed up but it’s somewhere in the middle of the scale for the gwanggong apartment complex anthology.
