The age difference is acceptable because they're adults. Most people above 25 have similar mindsets and have matured as a person, so big age differences don't really matter. It's another matter with minors and adults, or minors with a bigger age gap. If any 16 y/o looked at a 12 y/o as 'dateable material' then most people would be weirded out.
okay so everyone here has made their point and everyone is entitled to their own opinions, but I think we've all overlooked a particular detail here.
this manga (like most isekai) is based off a medieval fantasy time period. back in historical times they didn't have the same misgivings about "minors" that we have in this day and age. back then ppl didn't live that long so most ppl were considered of marriageable age much younger.
as soon as you hit puberty you were an adult. i'm sure many 12 year olds were married off to 30-something year olds so these two only being 4 or 5 years apart is actually a rather small age gap for the time period.

well first off this is fiction. Second off, it's more of a societal thing. In this society, 12 year olds are grouped up with 8-11 year olds. And 16 year olds are almost grown. Ya know, like age groups. But in this case, the setting is like medieval times(but with magic). At that time, there were 12 year olds getting married to like 30 to 40 year olds. A 12 year old getting married to a 16 year old wasn't nothing. And lastly, it's probably the art style too. It makes him look like he's seven or something. I'm not saying that you shouldn't be a bit uncomfortable because I am too, but don't take it to heart. They haven't even really done anything yet anyways...

I honestly hate the male lead... I think he's too annoying and persistnat, and won't understand she dosen't like him. I also hate when peoplel ship you with the person you hate, and I feel like the kid is just being annoying, even though he obviously can tell she litterally hates him.
