Does anybody get the plot here?
So many things happened in so many chapters but we still dont get the plot ┐( ∵ )┌
None of the side characters stay in the picture for so long that they can become real part of the story.
Like: we thought that she'll keep on learning to be a knight or mage or whatever but she fled.
She didnt get attached to anyone in the story...
So the point is: i dont know what the story's point is
Although its still entertaining, i must say ╮(^▽^)╭
But pls if you know what knid of plot we are heading to, give me some hint i dont get anything

Well... basically, she met her biological father who confined her under the ocean in order to train her and let her have some sort of power like her mother had, but she felt suffocated and wanted to get away from him—almost got sold as slave, met Joel, and planned to learn and see the world while serving Joel. However, after the murder incident, she decided she ain’t getting herself involved with Joel and others again, thus going with her father back home and not coming back to see Joel again. Joel, being the dumb asshole that he is, decided to just ‘meh’, she’s with her father, I’m no duke, anyways, so let her leave. *prob thinking she’ll come back if she wants to*. So, yeah, Joel and his group are just a bunch of a-holes, and they’re not worthy sticking around with anyways, so I think it’s better they get out of the way, while author introduced another potential ML, which is Ryan, the silver hair half elf guy. There she plans to help them saving slaves as she hates slave because she was almost sold as one (and cause she’s a modern girl originally anyways). Based on raws, she met another hawt guy that kissed her and made some sort of contract (?) prob. The beast kid also likes only her and clings to her, unlike the people in Joel’s, so I think she would get to stay with them for much longer and have better contact with them.

Idk if its only due to the translation but this manhwa is not really good. Maybe its not only the translation's fault?
The things that happen in the story are going too smoothly, the main characters' personality is also flawless in the begining - they are simply misunderstood - so it doesnt give chance to character developement.
And bc they are oh-so-perfect (so are their responses) they came to be really plane and boring characters: always smiling, always responds perfectly, lovey-dovey, always caring, yada-yada-yada... Nothing interesting.
Also we dont see why they started to develope feelings for each other! They had barely any encounter with each other which could slowly change their hearts. They had a totally different mindset. That cant change after only one positive experience... We should have seen their SLOWLY changing thoughts and feelings, but that didn't happen...
So all in all: can the translation steal this much from the story? Im not rlly sure. If its all the translation's fault, then i really want to read it after a comprehendable translation comes out!

I think the translation plays a big part, unfortunately ^^; I finished the first season of the manhua in Chinese and found it got more interesting in the later chapters. It's also a nice change of pace to be able to read some mangas/manhwas/manhuas that progress smoothly at the beginning instead of full of suspense and tragedy.
This manhua is now being officially released in English on Tappytoon, under the title "A Villainess No More":
https://www.tappytoon.com/en/comics/a-villainess-no-more.
If you can read Chinese though, you can find the raws for the first season here: https://rawdevart.com/comic/evil-lady-will-change/
It seems the original Chinese chapters are short, so the English and Korean translations combine several chapters into one. The raws for the first season and current second season can be found here: https://toonkor.com/악녀는-변화한다

Will the translation stay this terrible?
Im at the 17th chapter and the translation is dropping me out of story.
The tone they are using is so un-noble... What the frick does "ok", "whoops" (!!!), "awesome" (just why?) and "lets go" (used in a wrong way at that) do in an aristocratic environment???!!!
(╯ರ ~ ರ)╯︵ ┻━┻
Also, it takes like 3x more time to comprehend the texts than it should take... because they doesnt make any sense! Its like Google translator... Words meaninglessly put together.
Pray someone tell me that it will get better

This project might've already been dropped ^^; The manhua is now being officially released in English on Tappytoon, under the title "A Villainess No More":

AUTHORS' NOTE
Dear Readers, we officially declare that “Once Upon a Fairy Tale” comes to an end. After some legal advice we concluded that we're too poor to do anything with mangago. Also Kate (the artist) feels discouraged and scared to continue to make more webtoons. We would like to thank all of our Dear Patrons and Readers who supported us till now or in the past. Your love, encouragement and help really has meant a lot to us. Please, stay safe and healthy! Best regards, Witches of the Tower
//You can find this anouncement at webtoon, in the last update's comment section. Its quite recent, so you dont have to scroll much to find it.//
