I've read yaoi and fanfiction for years, where rape is commonly used as an authorial device, so one might think I was desensitized to it, but I guess not. It would be entirely different if the author and characters recognized Yahwi's actions as rape and Jooin responded to it as such -- as in, if the author's intent was to explore Jooin's reaction to being assaulted or something -- but I'm betting this will just be glossed over next chapter, no characters will see this as rape, and no harm will come from it. Maybe I'm wrong. Rape in a story is not necessarily a bad thing, assuming it isn't depicted as sexy and assuming it is present as a means to advance character development, to explore trauma, or the like. But having Yahwi rape Jooin like this, where the art depicts it is as if we are supposed to be aroused by it, is disturbing to me.
Gotta be honest, sometimes, there is just too much smut in a story. I love smut, don't get me wrong, but I also want the plot to advance, and at one point, there was ten chapters with nothing but smut while I had questions that needed answering! :D Still, good story. And yeah, the smut is good, too.
Jeebus, the art in this is horrible so far. I've only read a few chapters, but I hope the story is better than the constant caricatures of the characters, the chibi-like, silly art is off-putting and annoying AF. Someone tell me if this is worth reading despite the exaggerated style?
This is exactly what I thought when I first read it, I couldn't resist the art Until a few days ago I read it back again and turned out to finish it in one sit! Cause the storyline is worth to look forward to..
Dude. It’s their art style. It’s what makes the authors story unique and different from others. It’s not supposed to be entirely serious the style is meant to add comedy to the story line and make it less serious of a theme which is obviously what the author is going for. There’s plenty of detailed men bodies in this too tho so just accept the style for what it is and I’m sure you’ll grow to like it being there Eventually as it really does just add that extra pizzaz onto the story
I am not a dude, dude. :P But yes, I certainly understand artists have different styles. My point is not that their art is bad, per se, but that thus far, for me the art does not add comedic value to the story. Exaggeration of facial expressions in manga = comedy is (again, in my opinion) equatable to loud = funny for stand up comedians. I'd rather have Monty Python than Benny Hill. But others, including you, have suggested I keep reading, saying the story gets better, so I shall keep at it. Thanks!
If one doesn't take the story too seriously, then this is one of the best things I have ever read. It is hilarious, off the wall, and self-aware. And I mean, come on -- RAW DICK IS LIFE.
╮( ̄▽ ̄)╭
I laughed riotously when the bird ate the bug. It was so fitting. And his story about the marathon. I mean, in any other story where the author is trying to write a tragic plot, this would have been some emotional roller coaster of a read, but no -- hilarious. Utterly hilarious.
Hurray! I'm glad the ex is alive. He's not evil, he's just misunderstood.
Jk. Jk. :) Looking forward to the drama, but please don't hurt the uke too bad.
Nah babes he ain’t misunderstood he crazy
Ma'ma or Sir- i was about go say i was like did they really read the same story as i did
Are u ok? That guy was evil as hell .
Lol, I think a couple people didn't read past the first paragraph! :P
I was just kidding! :D
Each of us is the protagonist in our own story. Also, I DID say I was just kidding. :P
Truly, though, if he weren't alive, there wouldn't be the chance for drama, right? So, I am glad for it. I hope he dies painfully again in the end.
