Read ch21 in Korean and honestly I think Seungho may genuinely like him? He’s not conscious of the feelings yet but from the panels of them having sex, normally the other party won’t kiss your forehead since it seems emotionally intimate in a non sexual way.

I think seungho likes him to

So he’s 13 but unusually small due to malnutrition, and she’s around 16~17. So by the time that he grows a bit more it wont be odd if this turns into romance

Miraitsuki July 4, 2019 10:49 pm

There’s a LOT that goes on in ch 177, we get another glimpse of how long Hak has loved Yona and how he never saw himself as someone she could potentially have romantic feelings for. We see how neither Hak nor Yona are in denial and are clearly moving forward in their relationship. We get to see how the whole gang has made so many allies, and how they’ve now inevitably found themselves in a position where Keishuk finds them desirable and a possible asset -but how pure those thoughts are questionable. At this point I genuinely wonder if Keishuk just wants the best for the country, and will follow whoever appears to be the most capable of that. If that’s the case, I wonder if he’s considering abandoning Soowon, or if he plans to use Yona and everyone to build Soowon up.

Ch 177 is so good ahhhh I wish I had the spare time to join translating team! Seeing Hak as a kid and how he spoke of her and made it clear that he had someone he liked is just ahhhhh

I live for the fluffiness of Daath and Juda having a family, but AM I THE ONLY ONE THAT FINDS THE KIDS A LITTLE TOO ANNOYING!? Maybe it’s because of how I was raised, but seeing kids talking back to theur dad and demanding their parent spend time with them to the extent that they don’t play on their own or make friends is kind of... They’re cute, but the clingyness and the lack of discipline is just a pet peeve of mine. Kids can be attached to their mom, nothing wrong with that, but a sleeping room schedule!? And stalking Daath outside!?!? SOMEONE DISCIPLINE THESE PUPS A LITTLE MORE

    strangenight March 1, 2019 10:37 pm

I'm happy that Juda and Daath finally have happy family, but i don't like their kids. They are anoying, litlle boring and treat his father like enemy, don't let their parents have time together at night and yah they are spoiled. It's about the way how they treat Juda and don't let even have Daath some privacy. Not everything is about them and Juda deserves on more respects and intimated time with Daath.

In the newest chapter 5.1, when Matsunaga hears Shiharu go "Ah!" and Shiharu panics and says ”深い意味はありません,” meaning her "Ah!," didn't have much meaning or intentions behind it. Whereas when Matsunaga offers to stay over, and in the translation it says he has no change of clothing is way off. In Japanese it's written as ”深い意味でだけど” he turns the tables and tells her, by him saying he'll stay over, has more "meaning" or "intentions." Hence why Shiharu turns is in a state of shock.

So happy for Hak! Poor guy has been helplessly in love with her for a lifetime!

And Tae Jun! Hak has forever scarred his mind with memories of his glaive OMG His reaction when he saw "the military looking guy" ahahaha

I love how this ended to be honest. I do wish we got to see more of Zero and Yuuki's future. The scene where Kaname hugs the two children is like a parallel of when Kaname hugged Yuuki and Zero before he went into a "coma." The butterfly that lands on his finger when he awakens, and the butterfly that is beside his head as he hugs the kids, I wonder if that's suppose to symbolize yuuki. As Yuuki's powers take form of a butterfly.

I feel kind o bad for Yamamori-Sensei already. If she has the main lead end up with the author people say it's to make up for those who were disappointed with HnR, if she has her end up with the second lead, then people will say the story isn't much different than HnR. I've never once seen any readers compare mangos by the same authors so much no matter how similar they were. Of course this is a reflection of how popular HnR was, but come on guys. Just read the story and don't compare. Personally I feel the characters themselves are very different.

    fuwafuwa October 12, 2015 2:57 pm

that's true! i was pretty pissed off with HnR ending, but somehow I get the feeling that sensei will end up with the girl and the other kid will just be great friends with her... well, at least I hope so...

You can't help but compare. It is in every type of something a someone creates. So we start to Compare.
We have a similar situation: Highschool Girl falls in Love with a Man/Sensei. Chapters later a Rival appears. (Well, this is normal Formular in Shoujo Manga...).

So because its similar, i compare. I can't help it, because im still bitter about HnR. Im no little Girl anymore and into older/mature Guys, so i personally prefer always the older Guy in Stories.

I agree. The situation is way too similar, can't help but compare. It's not about who ends up with who. We're only hoping this to be refreshing, unrelated to HnR. An artwork always go bad if it's only there to appease the demands of people.

(the character design is similar to boot. But let's not comment on that)

I don't get why people are pissed that HNR ended realistically and healthily like???? Shishio had a lot of things he needed to work out in his own life and Suzume needed to move on from someone who couldn't even be honest about why he broke up with her (and then immediately got jealous and wanted to get her back) and they both realized that. That relationship was what pissed me off and it would've super cliche if she stayed with him.

    kyuubs October 13, 2015 7:48 am

you do know that she doesn't care if y'all were salty about that bed relationship not working out, right? She had that ending planned for a while. I'm soooo glad it ended the way it did, idc if any of you are into older guys, if you don't see what was wrong with their relationship then I'm worried about you tbqh

I don't agree with ppl bashing on the author but she did care. She actually apologized and put herself down over it. I remember reading it. Something similar happened with the author of caste heaven.

It's not about who ends up with who? That is just about the one thing everyone continues to compare. As I've stated, many other mangas written by the same author tend to be really similar, however with this particular one everyone seems so riled up. As I said, it is indeed a reflection of how popular HNR was. However, the majority of the readers are only talking about who ends up with who. I personally see the characters as quite different. Shishio in HNR was much more quirky-er and seemingly more outgoing. As everyone constantly points out whatever similarities they may see, or just the idea of a older male and student makes for a similar situation, they immediately draw everything back to HNR. Hoping for a non HNR related manga, but then continuously bringing up HNR seems kind of redundant to me. For instance, the male in TCLP is not a teacher. They don't have to particularly sneak around school, and consider loosing his job.

I have to agree. So many shoujo mangas are unrealistic. I found it refreshing for HNR to have progressed the way it had. First love sometimes isn't the last, the majority of the time it's not. That doesn't mean anyone afterwards is a second choice, it just means feelings eventually evolve into something else. You can never love two people the same way, you can love two people equally I believe, but as each person is different, it would be weird to love them the same way. Their relationship WAS unhealthy, especially for a first relationship. She was young and in love, then to top it off it was something she had to hide. To be perfectly honest, I would have found Shishio more mature had he offered to go out with her once she graduated high school. If they were so so in love, couldn't they have settled for staying close and officially going out once there was no more obstacles? I would have supported that no doubt. Although for this manga, I'm currently supporting the author. He seems a little more mature than Shishio was.

Just gonna throw my 2 cents in here since I find this convo really interesting. I'll lead in with the caveat that I haven't actually read this story yet, so I don't know the plot/characters/etc to make any deep comparisons between this and HnR.

However, I will say that the author is really opening herself up for comparisons by having a similar set up (ie high school girl MC, older guy male lead, and rival who's the same age as the MC). Even if the characters are as different as night and day, leading with this makes it impossible NOT to compare. Which is why I'm holding off on starting this manga; I'd rather take some time to forget about HnR so I can come to this with a somewhat clean slate and read the story for what it is without focusing on comparisons. But it's the fact that the current set up pretty much begs for you to draw connections that I think is tripping a lot of people up. Why couldn't she have done a manga with two high school boys as love interests, for instance?

As for HnR...I loved Shishio as a character; I think he was a relatively realistic adult in that he tried hard to act the way he felt he should but in the end realized his own immaturity as the story progressed. That's the way I live my life; every time I think I'm grown up, I take a step back, look at the way I handle my relationships, and change my mind lol. But their relationship was unhealthy...really unhealthy. Not through either of their faults, but simply because both characters were in very different places emotionally. Shishio was a love veteran, once burned, and already used to seeming less invested than he felt- basically an experienced adult. Suzume was a naive girl, just experiencing her first love, and didn't even know how to address the things that bothered her. So I'm glad their relationship ended. But...I wouldn't have minded her going back to him years down the line because, as I said, I liked his character a lot. The reason why I say this is because, as she matured later on in the series, we can see that she became better at not only addressing the issues in her relationships and vocalizing her thoughts and feelings, she became able to talk to Shishio on more equal footing. So with a bit more maturity on her part, and more flexibility on his (because, let's be honest, he could have tried harder to meet her in the middle a bit, knowing her lack of experience), they could have made a really good couple.

In short, I want to say I understand why the author made the decisions she did, and I do support them, but still can't help feeling a tiny bit disappointed. Maybe if she made Shishio just a bit less likeable towards the end I would have been 100% for the ending. Ah well, no use crying over spilled milk! ╮( ̄▽ ̄)╭ Sorry for the essay!
