I've seen comments blaming the king for slapping the queen. And some of you said "i understand u have trauma but I don't need to react that way". Those who said that, you DON'T UNDERSTAND anything :)
He has a trauma, and I believe most of us do have one too but different kind ofc. First of all we are a different person. So of course, how we act towards the trauma would differ too.
You don't say "I see, u have such trauma. But I face something way traumatized than u" right? Same as this. You don't tell others how they should handle their trauma. Plus, how he reacts is an impulsive. His body react before he could think. Is there any human can control their body when they're scared? When they can't think? Is there?

and i think this is going to head in the right direction, because the emperor, despite being raised the way he is (burden of ruling & taught to stand above/have authority over others without receiving genuine affection) plus receiving one of the worst traumas anyone has to experience... we can see that he's trying.
while it's true that everyone has a right to what they feel based on trauma/ptsd, that doesn't absolve them of their actions and how they hurt others too. which is what i like about this emperor bc he apologizes and tries to make amends. he has a conscience, he feels guilty and he tries to make up for his mistakes and compromise.
it's baby steps, but i'm just glad he's unlike those other emperors in these type of webtoons that are unapologetic 90% of the story then miraculous turn nice after falling in love.
he doesn't love the FL (yet) but he has enough self awareness to introspect and know that he did something wrong and work on it.
