Victim blaming is 100% a real problem and I will always believe survivors. But it's important to remember that Tom is not a real person, and I think part of the problem was that there were some inconsistencies with his character that may lead some readers to doubting him.
IMO there's three major moments of concern:
1. When Tom thinks back to what Haejoon said about having sex with other people, it's written as Tom actually having some kind of desire or curiosity about having sex with HJ/someone else.
2. Tom isn't just kissed BY Haejoon, he states himself that he kissed him back. [And IMO, with a clear mind and not being physically forced, it's not particularly difficult to move away or stop someone from kissing you.] Tom kissing HJ back, I DO see this as clearly cheating.
3. HJ giving Tom an hj (lol), I think it was coerced, but Tom is drawn as wrapping his arms around Haejoon, and imo there is some vague language...
TLDR; I think the final rape scene was a plot device to easily get the characters back together. It easily wrapped up Tom as 100% victim, someone to be saved and pitied. In real life people are complex and multifaceted, with real fault such as thoughts of cheating when they feel unloved or lonely; it would take a lot of communication and/or therapy to work through these problems, especially with Tom having had thoughts of cheating and kissing HJ back (which of course does not excuse rape, duh). I don't think it's fair to Jaemin that he doesn't know this, and is 100% blaming himself for not being able save Tom. ╥﹏╥
One statement I do strongly disagree with though, is that Tom was "asking for it." He never initiated intimate or sexual acts with HJ, and thoughts about cheating do not make a cheater. The thoughts that arose are actually pretty interesting, it just shows how people view the gray areas of sexual harassment, coercion, cheating, etc. Most acts of sexual harassment or assault are not as clear cut as the final rape scene. But in the end, everyone can have their own opinion, bc luckily this is not a real life scenario. ╮( ̄▽ ̄)╭

Are some people legitimately upset that this fake author character created a plot hole...? It's not like the real author had a plot hole, it's the story within the story ヾ(☆▽☆)
LOL this story we're reading now wouldn't have a plot if she hadn't made that mistake~ I personally think it's a pretty good storyline.. (づ ̄ ³ ̄)づ
