We all just going to vent about ch. 7? Then count me the fuck in. THE GUY CHEATED ON HIS GIRLFRIEND AND THE OTHER ON HIS WIFE! THE CONNECTION BETWEEN THEM IS LIKE A FUCKING CANON OF STUPID AND IDIOT BECAUSE, HEY, I KNOW IT'S HARD TO LIKE LEAVE EACH OTHER SO THEN, WHY DID YOU LEAVE EACH OTHER, IN THE FIRST PLACE?! FOR CRYING OUT LOUD!!!!
Society isn't accepting towards LGBT+ couples...it's worse in Asian countries (east, middle east, south etc) where in some it's illegal and punishable by death and filled with harassment of all sorts. They loved each other a lot but cared too much about society to be with each other but their feelings never left. They were highschoolers too. It isn't easy. One getting married was simply because he can't live his entire life holding onto the false hope that the other guy will return to his life. Besides cheating is so common these days, that one-shot didn't show anything unrealistic. It was a very good, realistic story depicting a lot of romance between LGBT couples in repressive countries. There are situations where I've gotten mad at couples for being stupid but this one just leaves me defeated because I can't say they're wrong for making that decision. Leonardo da Vinci was gay, and so was Tchaikovsky; neither got to be with their respective partners and we don't even know about their love lives. In fact, Tchaikovsky is rumoured to have killed himself as ordered by the government because his orientation was revealed and he was too famous to be remembered for that. If he died, he'd be famous for something entirely different. Sorry for the long post, I just think people need to enjoy the raw emotion in these stories
On one hand, I completely agree with you. This tragic yaoi one-shot let me feeling hollow and sad. Love and emotions are so complicated and as a teenager, even more so. On another hand, this is from an LGBTQ perspective of ill-fated lovers. I am just wondering if we looked at it from a heterosexual perspective - ie friends who secretly loved ecah other but couldnt be together due to family/class/caste, and each then had to move on with their lives but met again a decade late and cheated on their partner or spouse...would we have been as accepting? Ahh I doubt it. Its because we are enjoying the raw emotions of this that we also end up romanticising it.
I understand what you mean. And I wasn't romanticising it either. Cheating is on my top ten list of disgusting shit a person could ever do, along with things like, rape. I do not think cheating is ok whether it's BL or not. If I did, I'd be no different from someone fetishizing LGBTQ relationships. But also, this is one of those situations that sits on a grey area regardless of the orientation. Life can't be split into black and white. On one hand I feel so bad for their partners that probably love the individuals and planned their future with them and the betrayal they are facing and I loathe that they cheated; on the other hand, I'm sad to see that two people who have always loved each other couldnt be together and can understand their sudden burst. Personally, they shouldn't have gotten into a relationship without resolving their emotions of the past. It's just wrong. Other people aren't playthings. But then again, I can see why they made the decisions they did because humans are weak, flawed and makes more mistakes than good decisions. That's why I think it's a good story. I don't know the intentions of the author, but they depicted the consequences of the actions of 2 people and humans at some of their worst moments. We see this kind of thing every day. I don't mind seeing some ugly truth once in awhile. It's nice to read the cute fantasy worlds too. It's just not everyones cup of tea. Once again, what I liked wasn't the romance and tragedy in their story but rather the entire circumstance and story as a whole.
If someone came here after watching the anime, the continuation is ch. 266, and your welcome
I didn't come for that but people like you really are doing god's work.
