It’s just so funny that it’s always the top who’s expected to have a character development just so MC would eventually forgive him after so called ‘chasing arc’. But I wish the story focused more on Dan’s character development.
But of course it won’t happen because if Dan had an actual personal growth he wouldn’t end up with his abuser or even forgive him.

Will never get the fascination with yuki. This “dead wife trope” throughout the story was so exhausting

All of the things that you wrote is something I already know. It still doesn’t have to take the whole focus of the narrative throughout the story. There are many other aspects of main characters’ that didn’t get to be explored properly just because they are not as tragic. But I’m gonna give the benefit of doubt with the timeskip chapters, I wanna see how it goes :)
And I don’t get the fascination with yuki’s character is because he’s just a ‘memory’ and all we know about him is a romanticised version through the perspective of hiiragi and mafuyu. You guys can like him if u want but personally for me it’s not enough to get attached and mourn him.

i think thats what makes it interesting tbh. we never got to really bond with yuki bc from the very beginning he was introduced as the dead ex boyfriend, most people would probably feel differently about him if the manga started in an earlier timeline but the way the author portrays his symbolic immortality though his songs and his relationship with his loved ones is really beautiful
it also kinda had to take the whole narrative focus bc thats what the author planned to write from the very beginning, a story about a guy dealing with grief. he would be a completely different person without yuki. mafuyu's grief and guilt was the reason he started music and it was portrayed incredibly realistically, it makes sense that he wouldnt be able to easily move on. that means consistent writing not a poor one but i get why it would be flustrating for some people. lets hope te author focuses more on the other characters in the extras i rly wanna see ugetsu again

I’m still gonna stick with my own opinion about yuki but you do you.
And if it’s just a story about a guy dealing with grief, it doesn’t require Ueno and Mafuyu to be in a relationship. They could’ve been just friends. But since author decided to make them a couple she should dedicate more chapters focusing on their relationship too.
It is absolutely possible to centre the story about Mafuyu’s grief and regret about yuki while ALSO showing Ueno’s insecurities and challenges more in-depth but she just keeps dwelling too much on unnecessary side couples. And that’s why I’m saying I’ll see how it goes in timeskip and maybe I’ll change my opinion about this manga if it will be more Mafuyama and Given centered this time.
Finally found this manhwa again just to learn it was DISCONTINUED?
