I get some people are angry some people glossed over the fact that the ML literally THREATNED the FL to marry him, and I'm not making excuses because his behavior is manipulative and toxic and would absolutely not cut it if it happened in the real world. BUT people also have to understand that the ML 's character is based that he has NO EMPATHY! Which causes him to not function as a "normal" human being. That means forcing marriage through manipulative means, as well as not understanding that his actions may may negatively affect her feelings. The author literally based his character off of a psychopath. Therefore he will act like a psychopath in love. If you don't like, don't read. It's literally stated in the first chapter. I'm not saying your opinion doesn't mean anything, but that is his character.
Side note, if this shit happened to me in real life, I'd jump off a balcony too. Him basically stalking her and cornering her like a prey is pretty fked up, I'm not going to lie.

Duke's turnover was really fast lol. Honestly the author didn't even try to build a backstory and a proper love affair for the ML and the mistress/lover/girlfriend whatever you wanna call her.
From the latest chapters this story revolves more around the obliviousness of the FL so in reality they're both kind of dumb but it's a fun read.

Honestly, the hate towards Jennette is bottled up frustrations of waiting for this 30+ chapters drama to end. Unfortunately Jennette seems to constantly be the star of the show while everyone just wants Claude to wake the fk up so we can get the story going.
