his curse will get lifted but she will be trapped in this torturous dark place for seven years with the goddess of light who cursed the empire, there’s a lot of story about that but too much to go into lmao and then when she can finally leave , the goddess gets mad that ancia is leaving to be with blake because she hates all descendants of the first emperor since the first emperor cheated on her and so she body switches and gives ancia an ugly body with scars and she gets mistreated a lot

yeah right now at the novel’s translation blake found out the woman with scars was ancia and after both ancia and blake offered to sacrifice themselves to save the other (kinda like romeo and juliet) and the goddess realized they were truly in love so she put ancia back and it was so sweet and the emperor cried when ancia greeted him again after 7 years because he blamed himself when she disappeared. also blake becomes semi-possessive and it’s soo cuteee; but we have a lot of angst to get through…. so good luck
Dropped at chapter 7. The story just felt so bland, turning to the next chapter honestly felt like a chore. Also, I'm not that big of a fan of the art, the lips are super strange to me haha. I also really didn't like the choice of text bubbles... It just kept making me think they were using sign language (I just got done re-reading Sign haha). I was a little disappointed, with how the comments were raving about this. No worries if you like this, though, we all have differing opinions ^^.
https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/act-four/wp/2014/08/01/what-does-it-mean-for-art-to-be-relatable/
this is what i meant tho but yeah idk but i have a rec for you its called hate mate, one of my favorites, art is similar but the coloring is absolutely astounding
Though I can't read the article due to it requiring a subscription, I can infer my own definition.
In my eyes, the art for this manhwa isn't relatable. I don't feel a sense of connection when looking at it. I honestly find it pretty mediocre. It has simple colors and not much attention to detail which makes it easier to digest. The slight anatomical errors and small details that can be easily fixed with a quick redraw kinda tipped me over the edge.
I've never heard of hate mate before. If the art is similar to this then I don't think I'd particularly enjoy it.
Also, I know I couldn't read the article, but I don't think it was specifically talking about the art that one draws and was speaking more of consumable media based off the title alone. When I imagine "relatable art" I picture those simplistic digitally drawn images to make the viewer go "OMG XD this is so me!" haha.
oh haha thats not what i wanted to convey
i don't think art is a medium that everyone can interpret the same way its probably our differing perspectives influenced our perception on this manhwa. i personally love the slice of life genre, opening the gates to a fictional world where reality is not influential. the simple colors reflect the universe it is set in, everything is peaceful not chaotic like ours. as for the anatomy of the characters it seems to me that everything is simple and there's no need for any type of detail, to distract the reader from what the manhwa is trying to be. just another reality that we could be, but isn't.
this one quote from the article seems to resonate with me,
"that the work itself be somehow accommodating to, or reflective of, the experience of the reader or viewer. The reader or viewer remains passive in the face of the book or movie or play: she expects the work to be done for her.”"
maybe this manhwa is so appealing to me is a reflection of my desires and wants.
I get that Chan's supposed to be all cute 'n shit but his childishness and immaturity sometimes makes me feel uncomfortable... Baby, you're 20, not 6 </3. I still love him, though.
I’m very calm ur jus very defensive lol. he doesn’t really act like a child at all, just bc he’s not as serious or experienced as yool that doesn’t mean he doesn’t act his age. 20 is young. it’s weird how y’all seem to expect him to act like every grown ass bl mc out there ,,,, but regardless if ur uncomfortable stop reading lol
I totally understand you. I love Yechan, he's pure sunshine, but I actually thought he was gonna go the blushing, nervous way when he realised he had a crush. I didn't expect him to be so enthusiastic and borderline... harassing. Especially because it's not making Sunyool any more comfortable. SY's been really patient, and that's great. I'd have gone back to the city much sooner
You didn't seem calm by the way how you took my words way out of proportion. Of course, I'm defensive, you put words in my mouth </3! Yes he so does act like a kid, are you joking? The parts where he acts like an actual adult are such a breath of fresh air to me, like the times when he was teaching those kids and college students. This ain't about Yool and I'm not comparing him to Yool.
I'm expecting him to be grown because he IS grown! 20 years grown! Idk about "grown ass bl mc" though, I don't know what you mean by that haha.
Having a childish MC can be nice at times, but not when it's as much as with Chan. That scene where he was throwing popcorn around like a spoiled toddler was just too much for me and tipped me over the edge to write my comment, but I'm biased since I hate children and have a soft spot for serious mature characters (ones with tragic pasts especially <3).
Just because I don't like it doesn't mean I want to stop reading (I mean, I read 100 chapters of Beauty and the Beasts so I'm largely desensitized... nothing is worse than that garbage...). I'm just waiting for them to get together and shit so then the manhwa can finish haha.
Anyway, just because someone doesn't have the same opinion as you doesn't mean you have to butt in with your differing opinion, especially so rudely. I don't see why you were pressed enough to reply rudely, taking my words out of proportion. Chan's a fictional character made by someone who will never see my comment or this reply thread. Nothing matters. Sorry if I've hurt your feelings by not liking a character.
Right! I thought I was the only one who thought this. It's like everyone in this comment section has been brainwashed into adoring Chan without even considering that he might not be all great. I get liking him, that's fine, he can be cute at times too, but maybe if people stopped silencing people who don't think he's all that then we'd all have a better time. Boo-hoo, someone has a differing opinion. I'm tired of it...
The thing is that Yechan is very cute, yes, but the thing is that since he confessed, he’s been very pushy even though SY told him multiple times that he wasn’t ready for something like this and that it made him uncomfortable. I get that it’s Yechan's first love and he wants SY to like him back, but it’s kinda hard to watch when SY has communicated how he feels about Yechan's attitude but gets completely disregarded
i definitely see what u mean by that but it’s kinda weird to me how everybody’s shitting on chan now when seconds ago his inexperience and excitable nature was ur favorite thing ever. he’s not going abt this totally right but neither is sy by brushing off his feelings- he even tried to tell him to pretend he never told him that.
Call me irrational or whatever but I really hate the way they draw Ms. Bird. Hawks are big and powerful birds, they aren't meek and cute like how our MC is depicted. I get that this is most likely all a tactic to make the readers go "uwu owo cyoot birb babie uwu" so that they can continue to feed the authors with their patronage, but then why make her a hawk in the first place? Did they think carrier pigeons wouldn't be as good since pigeons are associated with trash and shit as well as being stupid?
That ain't all, the anatomy for her is awful. The wings look like you can rip them off with a good tug. If a real hawk had wings like those it wouldn't even be able to fly. This is probably considered a minor offense to most, but it irritates me since I'm an artist who adores birds and adores anatomical correctness, especially in this form of media.
Another thing.. the scenes where she's drawn as a human really disturb me. When I first came across it in the earlier chapters I got confused, like, "?? shes human now? wtf happened?" But now I'm desensitized. Even though I know what's going on now, it doesn't make it any less awkward for me. Like, the readers aren't even connected to the MC's human form. They've only ever gotten to see her bird form in action. I can't help but see human MC as some kind of stranger, especially in the scenes where it showcases her backstory. And in those scenes, I don't even recognize her personality-wise. she spent her entire life as an avoidant silent victim, but now as a bird, she's suddenly had character growth, I guess? I don't get it...
Anyway, this manhwa is over-rated (as most are since people on this site don't have any standards when it comes to the shit they consume. but you didn't hear that from me) and the ML is boring and if you don't agree with me then I don't know what to tell you except for GOOD LUCK.
Edit: She's a falcon, not a hawk (forgot the title LOL), It makes sense for her to be small. I'm still pissy about the anatomy tho hehe.

basically, after our fl died our ml went and turned back time back to childhood to keep fl alive. she wasn't reset for failing to turn him into a tyrant. now he's the one trying to keep her alive.
it sucks how awfully this was executed. the way it was executed makes it seem like the fl is stupid as hell. maybe if it was explicitly said that he turned back time then maybe we as readers could go "hehehe she doesnt know."
also its so obvious he turned back time smh
I get that the original uploader is upset about someone uploading over them but exposing them like that was unnecessary IMO.
It's not for that reason, the real reason is the new uploader's apparent lack of consideration for Mojito, this webtoon's original author, by disrrupting the prior updating schedule that was made in consideration of the author. If that's the case, then I think that notice is deserved.
I mean, I think the new one insists on uploading without respecting that considerate schedule.
As always you get everything right!
It's not like exposing them like that would do anything good, though. I don't see what the original uploader was aiming to achieve with that.
If the OG uploader was considerate of Mojito then uploading chapters of their work for people to pirate isn't the best option in my eyes. The 1-week wait isn't that big of a deal anyway, it's exactly like if they were reading from the official source, except just a week behind the non-piraters. I doubt that that 1-week wait has ever encouraged anyone to purchase the chapters legally anyway.
It has encouraged people. And that person shouldn’t have uploaded over the original uploader anyway. They knew the schedule but still did it so if only they done that they wouldn’t have been called out. It’s common sense.
I don't know that u lack some thing or what ! But original uploader do consider about this series and wanted to upload after 1 week is her decision , and uploading here especially on pirated site ya said some people who don't have acess to official site due to blockage of those sites in their country they will be able to read it here at least , and about people buying it officially I m that person who started buyin it work since last year out of curiosity to know things one things ahead .!.
Well, I'm no expert on this, but are you really sure about that? If you're not, then better not say that because it's rude to the uploaders who decide to do this out of consideration for the original authors. I say this because it's NOT the first time I've seen an uploader do this, and I've even seen some claiming they such made arrangements like that extraofficially with the legal sites (though I don't know if it was ever true), so I figured that if some uploaders do this it's because it does work out well to some degree, I can see no other reason for them doing it otherwise since it doesn't benefit them (the uploaders) in any way.
If it has then it would be hard t tell. The amount is probably minuscule compared to the number of people who haven't and continue to pirate.
Not much of a reason as to why that person shouldn't've uploaded over the OG uploader, besides the guilt of making the OG uploader disappointed.
Not sure how the stray uploader being called out is common sense. It's not like calling them out does much. To me, common sense would be to go to the stray uploader and try to convince them to not do that again. They don't learn anything by being exposed. But that's just my thought process.
Already did that and nothing came out of it. That’s why I dropped the series.
Good for you.
That's a bummer. Thanks for providing the chapters up until now, you've introduced me to an interesting series ^^.
About what are you asking me if I'm sure of? I made multiple points in the reply you've replied to.
I'm sure uploaders are at least somewhat considerate of the creators. But clearly not truly considerate seeing how they're performing as an outlet for piraters who only hurt the creators.
An uploading method I've experimented with in my head is just making the image quality very low but high enough to allow the text to be readable. This will at least give a solid incentive for people to go and purchase the chapters officially (especially if the series has good art). This isn't quite fair to people who can't access official chapters for one reason or the other, though.
About whether or not a week of delay encourages people to consider buying it legally (or watching ads to gain points to exchange for chapters in legal sites). I don't own, publish nor work in anything related in any of those legal sites so I'm not in on the inside of it and thus I wouldn't know for sure whether the release of the pirates version getting delayed for a a few days benefits them in any way, or not. So I'm asking whether you say that because you do have inside info, or just because you assume.
It's an educated guess. The people who pirate just to see if they like a series or not are harder to find, I've gathered that much from mingling with other manhwa/manhua/manga readers.
Most of the people I've spoken to pirate because they're unable to pay (from being a minor or broke), unable to purchase official chapters due to where they live, official chapters not being available in their language, officially translated chapters having low-quality translations, or because they pirate for the sake of pirating.
Releases of pirated material being delayed won't make any of these people pay for official chapters, since it's not like they're able to anyway. It's just like reading from the official source, just a bit later than others.
I've considered my experiences to form my assumption.
It would be nice to undergo a survey about this bc it’s a interesting topic imo. I still think that succeeding in pushing a person to unlock 1 chapter just by watching 30 ads is easier than to read the whole comic. Anyway, this is just my opinion.
Agreed. Sadly, I don't think a survey would be possible thanks to the legally devious nature of the subject. Perhaps it's possible on this website.
