I love this trio. Yemu and jiangxiao are so cute, sometimes I just forget that they are 17yo teenagers.
Also did that director really thought yemu will support a rapist, lmao this disgusting creature.
The flashbacks after the scene show precisely that he wouldn't support the rapist. When Yemu says he doesn't know if his sense of justice was his own or ingrained by his father and he wonders if he would've ever been a superhero, ling chen from the present looks at him and goes "you will". He really wants his father's approval and doesn't want to anger him but he's gone against his father multiple times till now because he thought he was doing the right thing. Not breaking school rules is one thing but he wouldn't stand by and watch as a heinous crime happens in front of him.
I see it more as a reflex, to do what a teacher is telling you to do since that's what's ingrained in him. But since he saw his teacher doing something that wasn't worth respect, he would've gone against it. Ling Chen 's influence has done a great deal to bring him out of his comfort zone, but even without him or his father, his sense of justice is his own. Reporting him later would still mean he wasn't supporting the rapist, it's just that Ling Chen had a better, immediate plan thus he could act just as the action happened.
No seriously, she be insecure asf and don’t know who to keep by her side -_- my dude supported her in her darkest time but all she sees is someone who witnessed her darkest time
