Okay, look. I am an incredibly open minded person. I have strange fetishes and I'll never judge anyone for theirs. So, bestiality doesn't faze me. But crushing the newly hatching chick of the chicken he fucked was SO WRONG! Talk about "late term abortion"! OMG! ROFLMAO

haha while i am open minded about fetishes, bestiality is not a fetish, its animal cruelty,,but this shit made me crack up

Judging a book by its cover! The cover art didn't appeal to me at first. So, I waited to read it. What an idiot I was! This manga is breathtaking, heart-wrenching and absolutely amazing. The story is unique, the fantasy aspects are compelling and believable and the characters are just wonderful. There is an air of mystery to the plot and the writing, in this way, is superb. This is going in my favorites.

Beautiful, isn't it?! I cried when the Zhen was explaining how the brother died and then cried harder when he chose to lose his color. The things we do for love!

Really, I got emotional when Zhen is sold to that general and afraid that he isn't treated well there. This manga is kinda realistic to show how the characters develop their feelings too (⌒▽⌒) not too much drama, but isn't that realistic. It's perfect haha

Personally, I love fantasy manga, especially when the realism is based in the fantasy characters emotions. Show me the most fantastic creatures and you have my interest. Show those same characters with genuine, relatable emotion and I am in love. Too much relaism throughout a story makes it too depressing for me. There are no happy endings IRL. So, I need them in my manga. It saves me from reality. LOL

This manga is unique in the yaoi genre. The art is intense and the writing compelled me to read to the end. It is a mash of yaoi, smut, hentai, fantasy, horror, comedy, sci-fi, tentacle porn and action. There may have been a few categories I missed as well. That, alone, made this a manga that could not have been easy to create. So, kudos to the mangaka on that. Subjectively speaking, there were more characters than I could keep track of and they get in the way of understanding who is doing what and why as well as who is whose side. By the end, I was just glad it was over and I still don't really know what the fuck happened. The partner switching didn't really faze me, but I will admit to skimming through most of the gratuitous sex scenes. Having finished this, the story feels incomplete. I am assuming this has a sequel or continuation somewhere, even if it is only in the mangaka's mind. Overall, I doubt I would put the time or effort into reading six volumes of "WTF?!" a second time.

Making a webtoon can't be an easy endeavor. I have a friend who is a mangaka and he works his fingers to the bone for peanuts simply because he loves making manga. I respect him for that and I respect this artist for their effort as well. That said, this valiant attempt at a story fell flat. The art was cute and consistent, but the story had no plot and the characters had too little development and no growth. Smut usually has more plot than this story did. What appeared to be conflict - hating the job of Santa and the interloping reindeer - went nowhere. We never saw how the conflicts originated and we never saw them resolved. Why did Sandy hate being Santa? How was the job passed on to him? How did the Rudolf come into his position? Who was the second Rudolf, how did he come into his job and what was his past relationship with Sandy? If there is more than one Santa, why and how was Sandy chosen? How did Sandy and his Rudolf come to be a couple? How did Sandy resolve the conflict with the second Rudolf? A great story leaves no question unanswered; a good story may leave you with one or two questions, but when there are more questions than answers, the story was poorly written. Since the art was clean, consistent and appealing, the writer just needs to hone their storytelling skills. I sincerely hope this artist doesn't give up. They have artistic talent and learning how to tell a story is a skill that can be mastered with enough effort. I wish them the best and would love to see how they grow.

I'm not big on shoujo, I'm a fujoshi through and through, but even this jaded old heart can't be cold when I read something like that.

I didn't think I could venomously, vehemently hate a female character in BL as much as I hated Tae from Scarlet. I guess I was wrong!

Mameiha December 27, 2018 9:25 am

This story is perfect just as it is. I normally don't like open or ambiguous endings, but this story gives a feeling of hope with its open ending. It is very simple, very sweet and all the emotions necessary are conveyed in every frame. I loved it!

For shounen ai, a genre I usually associate with kawaii love and bunny cuddles, really swung my heart around hard. I'm not entirely sure if I can picture these characters as a couple, but I am sure that I can picture them as friends who are closer than brothers. I was most shocked at the lack of sympathy or understanding afforded to It-chan from the adults who not only knew him, but knew his circumstances at home. Children don't become deliquents when there is a happy, healthy environment at home. Even in Yuji's case, his parents put a lot of pressure on him without ever actually listening to his thoughts or feelings. Their idea of "talking" consisted of lectures and demands. They talked *at* him and never actually listened *to* him. If they had, he'd have never been pushed to the brink like he was. In It-chan's case, even if his mother wore the mask of a smile for the neighbors, the adults in town would have seen the red flags of neglect all over It-chan. He was always hungry, never had any money and when he needed a parent the most, she was nowhere to be found. They just saw It-chan as a delinquent and a problem and never asked why or how he came to be like that. I guess there are no "Child Protective Services" in this manga's universe. LOL

The art is a bit "old school", but it doesn't detract from the story or the amazing writing. The story is intense, with lots of drama and lots of tension. You never really know what will happen on the next page.

But this was a bit too much realism for this reader. If I want to see couples who love each other, yet can't be honest about their feelings, I'll go to the local bar and listen to the whines and cries of my friends. Don't get me wrong, this is a beautiful and well written story. It simply doesn't fulfill my personal preferences for a fantasy love story. Give me drama, give me conflict, I can even tolerate one character moving on to happiness with someone other than their first love, but SOMEONE has to be happy in the end. This was like decaf coffee or non-alcoholic beer - what's the point? There has to be a little fantasy in my "fantasy love story". This... This is just real life misery and I can see that everyday.

But even one more chapter would have been good. I'm not sure if it was meant to be hilarously funny, but it had a few moments that made me chuckle. Overall, I thought the topic was interesting. The fact that being a gay doctor in Japan is not well received. Between discrimination and nepotism, being gay and having a prestigious medical career seems almost impossible. Though, I am not sure how a clinic can run efficiently without staff, whether female or male. But I guess that is part of the suspension of disbelief that is required for reading manga. LOL All in all, I liked it. A simple story with a simple conflict, resolved simply. Simple. LOL
