Like someone did some shady, underhanded shit when he was younger and doesn't want his lover to know just what a bastard he used to be. I don't get the "former lover vibe" from the new addition at all. The fact that Motoharu calls his lover the "only exception" leads me to believe he has never had a homosexual relationship before this one. Instead, it feels like the new guy wants his old hell raising partner back. Maybe they boosted cars, beat up homeless men or burgled homes in high school. All of which anyone who is trying to live an upstanding life would want to forget and keep those whom they love from finding out about it. Though, the implications that he was a rich young master could indicate that it is something way more innocent but equally embarrassing. Like, being a snob or a homophobe. Maybe he was just your average high school bully and picked on guys like his current lover. Hell, maybe he was a man-whore. That would give his lover pause in a homosexual relationship. Maybe Motoharu was engaged to the new guy's sister and left his family because he didn't want to marry. He could also be hiding that his family USED to be rich and they lost everything. People keep lots and lots of secrets and they vary from bed wetting to rape and murder. Even in yaoi you can't assume everyone is a former or potential love interest. That's not the only kind of thing people keep secret. For that matter, maybe Motoharu doesn't want his lover to find out he had an ugly hairstyle in high school!!

Maybe Kaburagi was simply in a one-sided love with his friend and that is why he didn't want to meet again and didn't want Onoe to know? he said Onoe was an exception, but that doesn't mean he's the only person he loved ╮( ̄▽ ̄)╭

That is another intriguing possibility. An old crush that has been long out-grown. There was a line.. "He looks like a candidate.", that had me wondering. There was no indication of the speaker. So, it could have been Motoharu or his old friend speaking because it occurred during the flashback. The question is: Who is a candidate for what? Candidate for dating? Candidate/target for bullying? Candidate for...

This was a good cliff-hanger. There is the right amount of drama, tension, ambiguity, questions and possibilities to guarantee that the reader will keep thinking about what will happen next until the next installment comes out. Which, of course, also guarantees that the reader will be waiting in line to buy the next issue. It is truly excellent storytelling. Often, authors will leave the audience hanging in fear. "Will they break up?" "Will the character die?" That kind of cliffhanger can also be good, but the answers are either yes or no. It creates limited debate. I prefer cliffhangers with many possible outcomes. Like this one. Yes or no, do or die cliffhangers are much easier to write than the "What is really going on?" cliffhanger. And this author is definitely talented with writing the latter type.

Yeah I agree with you, me too love this tipe of stories, and the cliffenger doesn't mean that have to be a drastic one, but one that leave you thinking "in what way they'll overcome this critical moment?" Certainly they will never break up and if they do it, will only be for a short time, but it's interesting to see how their love and relationship can be consolidated after a crisis. I remember at the start of the story that Kaburagi did say that he wasn't a good person and that Onoe changed him, so maybe this friend rappresente the dark past of Kaburagi, and about the candidate I think it was Kaburagi that was thinking, because throughout the chapter he said he did not want

You're right, he has said that he wasn't a good person. At the beginning of the story, the reader might assume that he is referring to having a gruff personality or that he has done shady things as a reporter. But this may be when we find out exactly what he meant by "not a good person". Since what makes a "good person" is pretty subjective, I'm really curious to see he did in the past that makes him think of himself as "not good". I have done things in my past that I regret or that I'm not proud of, but I wouldn't say I am not a good person. So, he either harbors a lot of guilt and shame over something minor or he has really done something terrible. Ooh, just thought of another possibility. Maybe he worked on a school or college newspaper and wrote a story that hurt someone's reputation or got them fired. If the person then committed suicide or lost their family because of the story, that might make Motoharu think he wasn't a good person. And it fits the candidate line. As in, this person is a good candidate for a juicy story. Hmmmm.

Yeah it's a possibility but I don't think the reason is a tragic one, because the sister didn't seem to be worried as Kaburagi about the friend, maybe because the friend knows that Kaburagi is a liar, maybe he knows that Kaburagi is a spoiled rich guy. What make me think of the possibility that there was a special bond between them is the statement that the friend made before going to speak with Onoe, about them to be invincible together , and because he said "no longer the same person, so your content with the present? There's no way it's true..." I think when Kaburagi said to not be a good person was because he was ambitious and he used every means to reach his goal, till he met Onoe who changed him for the better. So maybe the candidate fact was about Kaburagi who meant to use the friend for his purpose, than when no longer wanted to continue left his hometown.

Her progressive approach to the topics in a gay relationship just make my heart sing and dance. She doesn't do a lot of heteronormalizing and she doesn't expose the painful truth either. She tells the kinds of stories that make you think. "This is how love SHOULD be." It not only inspires hope, it encourages change too. The world needs more story-tellers like her.

I'm loving this manga so far. I adore the psychological edge. The art is stunning and, thus far, the plot is tense and exciting. I hope the writer has strong skills to keep their story-telling talent going through the entire series.

I laughed, I cringed, I cried, I laughed some more. For a work so thin in dialogue and exposition, every emotion and thought was so clearly conveyed through the expressions of the characters and context art. Their evolution from nervous apprehension and bullying to comfortable conversations and loving teasing was just glorious. This is what love is, right here. The ups, the downs and all the dull, wonderful days in between. This was worth every minute I spent, and will spend, reading this now and many times in the future.

Well written and superb drawings. This is a tragedy and it broke my heart to read it. I was seriously expecting a time skip to when the boy was in high school or college. But no... tragedy. I would say the moral of this story is that you never know how much you will influence someone - dye them in your hue - and to that end, we should not take our interactions lightly. A simple conversation to us, could be a life changing event to someone else.

What do you mean, that the boy influenced uncle to what?

Mameiha February 28, 2019 6:44 am

Yes, it is yaoi hentai, but it is still hentai. Personally, I love it, but if smut makes you blush, this will make your brain explode. Consider yourself lucky though. At least the kid getting rammed wasn't a toddler. 'Coz I have seen that shit in hentai.

If smut is XXX porn, then hentai is 20X porn.

Imagine all the tropes you see in yaoi that might get someone's panties in a twist - rape, non-con, dub-con, drug use, humiliation, exhibitionism, shota-con, violence, bestiality - add in gross or ugly seme, ginormous dicks, blood, cum, lots of crying and ahegao (Orgasm face) - and the occasional sex with bugs - then take all of that and drop-kick it way over the line of decency... that is yaoi hentai. It's fucking awesome! LMAO

Wait wait wait wtf sex with bugs?? Ive never even heard of that lol but I also like stupid stuff like this only with maybe slightly more context XD but haters gonna hate oof

This was a sweet story of a young man coping with loss. Life keeps on going even when we lose someone dear to us. We can choose to go on with it or stop. Though, there is little happiness or hope in the latter choice. The young man in this story promised to move on and kept his promise. It hurt him to do it, but it was made easier by his fateful encounter at the scene of his friend's accident. A very touching, heartwarming story.

The writing itself was mediocre, not poor but also not the best I've seen. The seme character tanked it for me. I love arrogant, forceful seme, but this guy was off the charts. There has to be a moment, a frame or even a thought, about his true feelings for the uke to make the character likeable. Here, we don't have that. Even his "confession" sounds empty and like something and asshat who was desperate to get in your pants would say. "Yeah, baby, I love you, now let me fuck you so I can get home to my wife on time." It was THAT cringey to me. Then, when he says something to the effect of "work hard until the last show" he lost even more credibility because the first thing my mind went to was that he would dump the poor uke on closing night. Usually an asshat character won't ruin a story for me, but he is the only character with a personality in this manga. So, with him being an asshat, there isn't much else to focus on. The uke has as much development as a mob character and what we do learn is that he is naive, weak-willed and a doormat. Just the typical sadist/masochist pairing for yaoi, bit when done in a story that is told so mediocre, you get this hot mess of a manga. Sadist/masochist pairings don't fare well in one-shots unless they are already likeable and if they are not likeable, more is needed, in the way of the story, to make them at least understandable or relatable. Overall, it was a waste of time for me and not a pleasant one.

Thank you for sharing your opinion. I enjoy hearing what others think.

Jealousy, unfortunately, is not always an expression of love. In most cases, it is an expression of insecurity or dominance/ownership. This is especially true when the jealousy is extreme and expressed through mental, emotional and physical abuse. So, an asshat being jealous doesn't make them less of an asshat. At least, not to me.

Until chapter 5. The author's sense of humour was hilarious, but their storytelling abilities leave a lot to be desired. I, like many others, felt the author just got bored or tired of the story and gave up. I'd like to see their work after 10 years of consistent writing or a few courses in college level creative writing. I imagine they would be quite a lot better, more thorough and able to complete a story. Kudos if this is their first attempt though. It was far better than some I have read. To give credit where it is due, I really felt connected to the characters. They were all relatable and likable. Even the weirder ones. I would have liked to read more about all of them.

Thank you all so much for doing such a great job with such a great manga. A slow update is still an update and it is very much appreciated. So, please don't worry about it. School should come first.

Team notes in a manga can be annoying if they guide a reader's opinion of the story or main characters. When they are unbiased or funny comments about the words used or the experience of translating, then they are fun and welcome. Even wanting to beat up the antagonist in this recent chapter was okay because I think everyone reading felt the same way. What a douche! You guys did a great job and I hope you are able to continue. I've helped teams before and I know the work is tedious and time consuming, but for every person who complains, ten of us are grateful and appreciate your effort. Thanks, again, and good luck with your thesis and your future projects.
