With the little I know about native American struggles in the US, the intro of the book gave me super off vibes lol.
Because I don't know anything beyond surface level about N.A. culture and their family dynamics and whatnot I can't really comment on how accurate the portrayal is, or even how it would be received by actual N.A. but for what it's worth it's a really good story.
It's not smut centric, which is really nice because there's a lot more to the story, plot, characters, etc.
40% of fmcs are affected by this disease... side effects include incredible charm towards handsome males and unexplainable main character powers
and the main symtpoms are "being abused by family", "thinking they don't deserve kindness and good things", "being unaware of their very apparent beauty", "having no self esteem", "thinking they deserve to be treated harshly and are a subhuman", "thinking the man that loves them deserve better", "being blind to the very obvious feelings of the ml", "being unable to stand up for themselves", "not even resenting their abusers bc they're family", "being unable to be hinest with people when it's not self deprecation" and many more
Lmao
Also having no survival instincts towards toxic people even after spending their whole lives being abused. No trust issues even after being betrayed repeatedly.
Is there a treatment for this!?
