Second story was great. Twisted and depressing but great. The third story was confusing to me. None of the boys' final actions made any sense. Felt like it was supposed to be this major twist but landed flat in the end. May be it was a translation issue? Oh well
Just started reading this and it is clear that it has been abandoned by the artists.
Somebody attached a link to the new version of this manhua and I had to laugh. This one was just so beautifully drawn that for me the new one is hard to swallow. Not the first manhua that starts beautifully and is either abandoned or the artist is switched midway.
Will put it next to Hua Hua You Long under "things that could have been great."

I'll start by saying that I seriously must re-read this series from beginning to end and try to focus on the story more...
That out of the way...
I have questions about Seungho's motivation for two events specifically.
The first starts our story and that's Seungho's interest in NK's paintings.
Was it really about the erotica and his difficulty to be turned on? I mean, he can't fake that and I think SH's motivation to get at his father would drive him to keep pushing himself sexually and to continue to push forward his reputation as being openly promiscuous.
I know the romanticized realism of NK's art may be the reason this helped SH with his dysfunction but SH is too cunning (as his father found out after receiving that "letter"). He didn't waste nor hesitate to use his private art when sharing it with "friends" or when he saw a way to get back at his father. I may be wrong but so far I haven't found that this author wastes what they put on the page. it usually build to something or it seems to be held back to use it later.
I started wondering if NK's art (his talent stands apart from the erotica circulating at this time) is building up to something. Whether it is to help him to rise in status, or if will be weaponized in the next season at some other character. It just stands out too much to be just a tool to reach Seungho's "heart".
The other "event" that made me question whether SH is laying some elaborate plan was the use of the gossipy tailor to make clothing for NK (an apparent servant - NK objects!). Ever since that instigating ex boy toy of SH's questioned him about it, it has stuck in my craw. SH wanted to spread that he is serious about a "servant"? Why?
The thing I can't accept is that it is just meant to be a humiliation for SH's father/family.
Is he trying to diminish his younger brother's chances at acquiring a government position by dragging their name deeper into the mud?
Is he trying to lower someone else's guard by sinking his own pride and subjecting himself to being a laughingstock by openly and publicly showing himself to be attaching himself to a low born?
I am not saying he isn't interested in NK. It may have already crossed the line to love territory for him but I see SH as a mastermind, a man that doesn't show his cards to the extent that no one is aware he is in the game and winning. I see him as a man that can juggle things happening in his personal life and outside of it smoothly.
There's more to him than meets the eye, more than how sexy he is and more than his interest in NK. I feel NK may be unexpected chance at redemption more than anything else.
So any thoughts or any other takes? Are there any other events that stuck out to you? I hope you share. Thanks.

i think if seongho had any such intentions they would have been in the past and those intentions have gone away now that he actually fell for NK. tbh i think the tailor scene was actually just him being horny and he didnt have other intentions? but it is a very fair point.
That’s really a great theory, I agree on the part that Seungho is sharper than it seems. He may do questionable things, but not to the edge of being called a psycho, but doing it ultimately with a purpose.
I would agree with that if the story seems to be just a love story but it isn't. The author is setting the story up around SH's past and the intrigue around what was done to him by his father. And based on that I don't think we will just get some quick exposition via flashback showing us what happened. I think SH has a whole revenge plan that has been set into motion way before his father made contact with him (I think his father reaching out was what SH was waiting for to expose his plan).
Also, look at the way that SH lives his life. Everything he does is a subject of discussion for low borns to nobles. He exposes everything he does (or what he wants to expose) yet he has the money, connections and intelligence to keep what he does discreet but he chooses not to. He also chooses to show very salacious and embarrassing intimacies knowing that this will be fodder for gossip and in turn making him seem too consumed by his depravities to be someone to be taken seriously (or plotting some sort of payback) by others.
I do think his attachment to NK is sincere but he isn't at the stage that he would drop what he may have in the works for him. I think he has been laying the foundation for years and he wouldn't just drop that.
I see SH as someone that is more than what he appears to be. He has his private life in everyone's mouths yet he hold himself with true confidence and dignity. And I don't think that's just from being a noble. Look at the other noblemen he surrounds himself with. They can be cocky and entitled and come off as bratty and insecure. SH is miles past them.
I see SH as a type villain/ antihero who pretends to be one thing to lull his enemies into underestimating him. He would have to for he is apparently all alone.
This type of person would be opportunistic and single minded in their goal and would use anyone and anything if they saw a way to make themselves appear even more of a joke in his enemies' eyes.
SH is very aware of how NK and his relationship would look to others. I thought he just wanted to raise NK up socially so that there was no question as to what NK's place in SH's life was and that still could be...but why leave it at just that. And why make the comment, that obnoxious ex-lover did during the hunt, about SH's motivations to bring NK to the gossipy tailor. I just don't believe the writer through that there for nothing and I also stopped thinking that this story is only a love story when the exposition of SH's past is being held back with very little hints.
Yes, I agree. I have never gotten psycho out of him. At least not in the way we think of psychos, I guess. I think at the beginning of the story he seemed to be unstable (he holds a lot of rage) but as the story progressed he became calmer and more centered.
SH is intentional in what he does. I think the outlier is NK. He was an unexpected curve ball for SH and he didn't know how to react to him. Then for him to quickly have a rival that had been deified in NK's mind cause the rage he already had to be centered around NK. That's what cause the outbursts.
This writer/artist team always leaves me dissatisfied.

Do not get me wrong, I really enjoyed the story up until the ending. Loved the characters, the pairing was beautiful, the relationship between them was a dream, art is ridiculously beautiful and not fair on mere human eyes (a complete delight). Not only was the MC a sweetheart but Yellow Dragon was gorgeously perfect inside and out. Perfect, romantic seme and this comes from someone that loves alpha ahole characters (Seungho, I am looking at you!).
I am glad that we had a happy ending and I don't begrudge the people that enjoyed it. With all the stress and pain towards the end that's understandable.
I am just putting this out because I have noticed this has been done in two other stories from this team (artist) and they follow the same pattern, and I wanted to see if anyone out there has noticed the same or if they noticed different and could hopefully point me to things I may have missed if I am incorrect.
But I do have some gripes about the story making team. This ending was abrupt and that seems to be their style. They tend to give you a lot of story that you think is going somewhere but it never does. Lots of hints to background info, lots of twists without turns, lots of introductions to characters and stories that lead nowhere. They tend to leave loose ends everywhere. At least that's my feeling, as I said I may have lost some thread along the way and missed the point but in all honesty if this is just fluff (nothing wrong with that) with no depth I would like to know that because I feel like their stories get disguised as something more substantial and layered but in the end everything gets thrown out and abandoned.
I don't believe a story should be tidy. I don't think all loose ends need to be tied. Specially if you want to give a hint of real life to that story. But what I find annoying is that this seems to happen in all their stories. Look at Blood Link, the first phase (parents' love story). Look at the implied war of vampires and lycans that never came. The insinuation that a female lycan (our MC) was rare and worth fighting for to continue the lycan race, specially when there are implications that lycans are trying to breed with their kind. The vampires take the female lycan and actually achieve the impossible which is to breed the undead vampire with a living lycan creating a hybrid child and the lycans just drop it, I guess. This could be continued and actually explored further in the second arc, as their child mates with a pureblood female lycan (even more rare and whom the lycans raised to breed with a pureblooded male) and the lycans are just on the sidelines. I have a feeling that once a confrontation happens again it will be towards the end of this second arc just for dramma points and it might just be abandoned like everything on the previous arc.
They build up the story, give you lots of possibilities only to drop them all after they have drummed up enough drama towards the end of the series or arc and then a quick resolution is given and the story just ends. They end up together but the story just ends.
You get a long build up, a quick: "Oh, I give up," from the antagonists and the main characters kissed and the story just ends.
In "A Paramour" the ML is planning all this stuff to counter the villain and then they just leave. It would have been a fine ending if the villain (ML's mother) wasn't extremely controlling, willing to do anything, callous towards her own son, dangerous and with a lot of baggage that could destroy her utterly and which is known to our two MC's.
I may re-read this story to look for my own answers but I will be honest, with what I have seen so far I am inclined to believe that it is just fluff (very pretty fluff) with no substance. I am planning to read it again and again without expectation of layers and enjoy it for the beauty of the art and the beauty of the couple's relationship and love. I have to say that to me, this is their best work. I can actually enjoy this story beyond whatever irritation the loose ends cause me based on the strength of the main pairing.
Beyond that there are few characters I liked. A lot of the animal spirits fall apart for me as they are so inefficient over and over again and felt like they were used as a filler for the most part. I wanted to know more about the past, Prince Yooshin and the other emperors before Dojin (Not all but I few well placed flashbacks just to give you some visual of YD's loneliness and the importance of Dojin's appearance in his life). These are just my wishes and really irrelevant beyond my need to share some of my reasons for dissatisfaction.
Overall as beautiful as their works are, for me Tale of the Yellow Dragon is the most fulfilling and re-readable. I know "Blood Link" is still going but I am a bit turned off by it based on what I perceive is their pattern in story telling.
If you made it through this rant, I thank you. Again, this is all my dissatisfaction alone and my search for maybe a discussion on whether I missed some key points that show the depth I sought in the story or to see if any one shared similar findings.
I am the kind of person that when impressed by a story, I will search everything the writer/artist has available, so I read these things in relative close succession to each
other and those "flaws" were glaring. I had hope that since this story was so enjoyable and moved with a clear direction that it wouldn't fall victim to what the other stories did, and I honestly think that if an epilogue is dropped in later (I am not hoping for one) giving us just a glimpse into their happiness/life together (smut not necessary) it would be more satisfying, at least for me.

I totally agree with u on the “ A Paramour” story it felt very unsatisfying to not see a clear ending..like it felt unfinished in a way for me.. cuz halfway through the story the hyung had soo many plans set up only to not go through with it and it felt like the villainous mother won in the end since she didn’t really pay for her mistakes and wrongdoings..
this was an ok ending for me..it saddens me to see that they don’t get a happy happy ending but I am kinda satisfied knowing atleast they meet at the end since this was a story between 2 different dimension and stuff
and I do hope blood link will have a even better ending cuz there r a lot of background that has been built in that story!! I hope that it will have a really satisfying ending
Blood Link is where I am worried if I am honest. To me this story is their most cohesive and well made despite the let down I feel about the ending. I could re-read this. I can't go back to "A Paramour." The amount of chapters alone become too long and meaningless once all the things that were laid out are abandoned.
I could say that the "success" for me in "Tale of the Yellow Dragon" was giving me hope for Blood Link but it just helped to bring more red flags that the same technique would be used (lots of set up, lots of story with zero follow through or pay off - just a quick resolution and abrupt happy ending) and the story will end for me the way "A Paramour" did. I think Blood Link might not be able to work as well as ToYD because it really uses the lycan/vampire tug of war. It is a driving force to the Lycan side (their need to strengthen their lycan bloodline), so not having a follow through will render that storyline as just more spinning of our wheels (filler material) for the sake of just keeping the main pairing apart.
"A Paramour" had a great villain that needed to be bested because nothing would reassure her that her son and his lover wouldn't use what they had on her against her. She was distrustful and always saw others as having the same level of malice as she did. And she was completely wasted with that ending.
I hope I am proven wrong on Blood Link. I will wait til the story is closer to the end to pick it up again. I really love their art and their stories have a lot of potential. I just want them to stop falling flat for me.

I am also waiting to see where blood link goes.. also the same author (I am guessing since the artwork is the same, I haven’t really checked ) has bought out a new manwah as well and I hope that one also does well but I am kinda still not really sold on that new once cuz I kinda feel like everything is going too fast there but who knows
One of the best Omegaverses I have read. Very surprising, very beautiful. It starts like a typical Omegaverse, then it takes the themes of the verse and flips them around.
There's redemption, fighting against your lower instincts and refusing to accept what is expected of you due to the arbitrary discovery of what class you fall into.
Fated Pairs are explored as well in a way I haven't seen before.
Very, very beautiful story full of depth, pain and love. Warning: you'll need tissues but it is worth the momentary pain. All good love stories are.
