The MC was involved in a train accident where only him and the ML survived, they go by with their lives, the MC becoming a writer and the ML working in a "pleasure house", they both had their share of misery , the MC became a successful famous writer but every person he writes about end up dying, and he starts to believe that he is cursed,fueled by the hallucinations and nightmares that plague him daily where a sinister version of him as a child keeps haunting him, he believes that this is the shinigami (god of death, grim reaper) that kills the people he writes about, his curse, so he stops writing in order to stop the curse,the ML on the other hand was taken in and raised in a pleasure house, where he was exploited for pleasure by the female prostitutes as a child/teenage and was forced to act a certain way to please the costumers, even if he was working in service not in prostitution, all that exposure to these kind of things at an early age made him hate life,a bit suicidal even till he saw one of the MC's movies which moved him to his core and while reading the credits in the end of the movie he saw the MC's name, which he remembers because it was the kid that survived with him, and he finds a reason to live, photography.
The two end up meeting and they become involved physically and the MC finds that the ML was the other kid on the train, and he tells him about the curse, their relationship was bumpy as the ML was eager to be loved and noticed but all the MC can think about is the curse,the ML requests that the MC writes about them, because he wants confirmation he wants the MC to prove his importance in his life and he low-key wants a double suicide if the curse is real because he's envious of the shinigami that resides in the MC's head, but the MC was afraid, writing about the ML means killing him.
The president of the picture company finds about the MC infatuation with the ML and threatens him indirectly giving him a new story proposal that he must write, the story this time is about the MC, the MC knowing he's good for nothing but killing people accepts sacrificing him self and distances himself from the ML, but he couldn't do it as he kept reminiscing and longing, while taking his "memorial picture" by the ML who gets a hint of what the MC was doing,He suggests taking a trip together , a tripe that ended up being in the MC's mother hometown where he remembers everything, his father the famous writer with a write's block who almost killed him because he could write well, his geisha mother who gave birth to him, a bastard, the way the two committed suicide together, and he finally faces all the suppressed memories "the shinigami' who was haunting him, the hallucinations were nothing but his memories , the memories he suppressed as a child to deal with all the trauma he faced, giving his child self closure finally.
Later on he finds out that his parents didn't commit suicide but where killed by the president ,which killed all the people the MC wrote about to make him sink in agony and harvest the fruit of his misery in a final work about this writer who knew nothing but trauma and tragedy since birth, the one he suggested "the MC writing about his life".
The MC confronts him and writes about his life but not for the president for the press,which causes a big scandal and gets the president jailed, the ML leaves to travel and photograph,paying his farewells to the MC giving him time to heal and sort his feelings hoping that one day the MC chooses him and prioritize him, the MC leaves to paris and continues writing, this time he writes his story with the ML,the confession that the ML was dreaming about , they end up meeting and living happily ever after.
