I don’t think he actually remembers but you have to remember, what you’re reading. Rape rarely gets addressed and if it does majority of the time it’s not taken seriously or just treated as sex. Sometimes the characters even look back at it as a fond memory. I’ve read very few stories where it was acknowledged and/or treated as a bad thing
