some people don't understand the 3d side of characters and choose to only view them at face value and it fucking shows. there are SO many people on here hating on hikari for being a shitty uke, when in actuality, he just knew what he wanted and didn't want to stray from that. he HAD a reason for thinking that being mated with dan was a big deal, and also explains why he didn't let himself be happy in a relationship with dan (the entirety of chapter 5; did y'all read the story lmao????). sure, maybe he could have been more open about that to dan, but you can still see him slowly falling for him. he just wanted somewhere to belong, and he eventually found that in dan.
