I am so broken-hearted by this chapter. First they dress Yona up like a doll, completely negating all of her character development so far, then the separation from Hak and the treatment of Hak as a criminal, then the isolation from the dragons. And she just goes along with it all. When she left Hak behind I screamed. This is the person who's remained with you from the beginning, who gave up everything for you. And you are going to stand by as he gets treated as a criminal? This is not going to be a one-time ocurrence, it's just a glimpse into how Hak is going to be treated from here on out, and you are fine with that? You are not going to say anything? Yona's not a doormat princess anymore, if she had demanded that Hak accompanied her, Kye-sook would've relented in order to avoid conflict with the dragons. But she didn't. That breaks my heart so bad, because if she didn't assert herself now, I can see how the coming months are going to be. Yona confined to her room and just showing up for appearances' sake at state functions, and Hak and the Dragons relegated to the military quarters to either train the soldiers or deal with them. Constant functions and duties on both sides, constant treatment of Hak and the guys as simple weapons. Oh, god, this hurts me so hard.

I think it's a bit of an overblown reaction to the fact that Naru is basically just a twisted person. From the bit of back-story we got from him, we know that his life has not been easy either, and the fact that it warped him a certain way. Honestly I don't know how people can be so harsh to Naru when this story is basically a redemption arc for Masato, who was a huge jerk during Sayonara Game/Change World. Sure, Naru has a bad personality, but still he was there for Asahi when Asahi needed him the most, and sure, he manipulated Masato and Asahi, but he still wen't out of his way to make sure that Kousei would accept Masato and Asahi's relationship with his little charade. Is he an inherently cold person? Yes. But I think that is fine. I'm so tired of people reading and complaining about bad character development in stories and then bitching when the villains are not 100% bad and the good guys 100% good. Oh, wow, people have layers and everything is different shades of gray. SHOCKING! One of the things I appreciate the most about Minaduki Yuu is how her stories are actually character studies more than romances. She is one of the few authors in Yaoi genre that actually puts work into the development of her characters, and it's sad that people cannot appreciate it fully because of their own close-minded pre-conceptions.

eh, people can hate on the character if they want. you can’t force them to change their minds. you even agreed he’s got a bad personality and a cold person. i don’t agree with people saying bad character development though. who said that here? can u link the post?

This didn't make the smallest lick of sense. I don't know why they decided to just give up on the entire plot by ch 3 but it became so bizarre and confusing and weird I just couldn't understand anything. Not the history conclusion, not the new character not even their relationship dynamic. They really just dropped the ball so bad.

The last battle of Lord Escanor.

I'm thinking this takes place shortly after or around volume 10 of the LN, since Benimaru is not married yet and the Open Country festival happened a short time ago. In the main manga we are just now entering the action of the last half of volume 5 so I'm thinking it will be quite a while before we are caught up.

I like that this is so nice and fluffy and while I would've liked at least a couple of scenes with Euti grown up, I still appreciate the fact that this didn't use the loli element to go the cringe way. I love how balanced their relationship was and how Alec could still take comfort and enjoy spending time with her without it being either awkward or creepy. Also, two thumbs up for the tsundere older brother, he worried me for a while there but at the end of the day he is just one big fluffy cinnamon roll with a crusty exterior.

What's with the rape though? There is such thing as erotic straight literature aimed at women. Or do the Japanese manga industry thinks the only explicitly erotic stories female readers enjoy is Yaoi? There's no way this is aimed at women when it's so incredibly degrading. I wish for one they could portray an actual relationship with an explicit erotic side that it's not toxic. Is that too much to ask?

Have you read talk to me
Its decent as far as that goes

You can have that, that's totally fine but don't speak for every woman and saying we don't like this too. This is literally the female geared porn version of the pizza guy coming and wanting something other than money payment.

Like if you're looking for something that portrays a relationship and sex then this is obviously not it because this is just porn so calm down a bit. No need to attack it, just look for what you're looking for somewhere else.

As for relationship stuff and sex, I highly recommend Tomu Ohmi. Her Kindan no Koi wo Shiyou and Midnight Secretary series might be what you're looking for.

Sorry but did you just write that women are into rape?!

In a fictional setting, they could like some non-con or something that evolves from that
Look at some of the most popular yaoi and you tell me that some of them aren't into it. But stuff that goes on in yaoi is separate from reality.

The way you make it sound, it's like you think that I'm saying women like rape in real life and that's not what I'm saying. It's fine to love yaois like this as well as not like yaois like this. Just don't change women that do like yaois like this

Oh, and BTW can we all agree Joo-doh is a f*cking hypocrite? If I had to choose the character I hate the most in this manga, even more than Kye-sook (who's really just a calculating bastard) or even Gobi (who's basically little more than a caricature at this point), it would be Joo-doh. I can't get past the fact that he was appointed as guardian for Yona when she was little, and yet willingly participated in a campaign to murder her. Every time he gets incensed about Hak threatening Soo-won I just get so mad, because that's how he should've been with king Il , but since Il didn't meet his lofty military standards, betraying him for his own gain was alright. The way he tries to convince himself he did it for a greater good and not just personal dissatisfaction makes him even more hateful in my eyes, because it's like he's shrugging off the blame of it, like saying "They were weak/spoiled so they had it coming"

    Shopliftee July 23, 2019 7:26 am

Exactly - he's so fucking irritating, others even though they are bad, know the consequences of what they did but he just can't seem to accept that

    arebg452 July 23, 2019 5:13 pm

Indeed. I don't ask that you regret it or anyrhing, but own up to it you f*cking coward and stop trying to bag on Ha k when he's just responding to the whole situation the way YOU should've.
