What's with the rape though? There is such thing as erotic straight literature aimed at women. Or do the Japanese manga industry thinks the only explicitly erotic stories female readers enjoy is Yaoi? There's no way this is aimed at women when it's so incredibly degrading. I wish for one they could portray an actual relationship with an explicit erotic side that it's not toxic. Is that too much to ask?
You can have that, that's totally fine but don't speak for every woman and saying we don't like this too. This is literally the female geared porn version of the pizza guy coming and wanting something other than money payment.
Like if you're looking for something that portrays a relationship and sex then this is obviously not it because this is just porn so calm down a bit. No need to attack it, just look for what you're looking for somewhere else.
As for relationship stuff and sex, I highly recommend Tomu Ohmi. Her Kindan no Koi wo Shiyou and Midnight Secretary series might be what you're looking for.
In a fictional setting, they could like some non-con or something that evolves from that
Look at some of the most popular yaoi and you tell me that some of them aren't into it. But stuff that goes on in yaoi is separate from reality.
The way you make it sound, it's like you think that I'm saying women like rape in real life and that's not what I'm saying. It's fine to love yaois like this as well as not like yaois like this. Just don't change women that do like yaois like this
Oh, and BTW can we all agree Joo-doh is a f*cking hypocrite? If I had to choose the character I hate the most in this manga, even more than Kye-sook (who's really just a calculating bastard) or even Gobi (who's basically little more than a caricature at this point), it would be Joo-doh. I can't get past the fact that he was appointed as guardian for Yona when she was little, and yet willingly participated in a campaign to murder her. Every time he gets incensed about Hak threatening Soo-won I just get so mad, because that's how he should've been with king Il , but since Il didn't meet his lofty military standards, betraying him for his own gain was alright. The way he tries to convince himself he did it for a greater good and not just personal dissatisfaction makes him even more hateful in my eyes, because it's like he's shrugging off the blame of it, like saying "They were weak/spoiled so they had it coming"
Honestly, I can see where this twist is coming from, I kind of already knew that the public confrontation between Soo-won and Yona was coming. But what I don't understand is how this is going to move forward. At the beginning I thought Yona's kidnapping by Kuelbo would be the catalyst and that Soo-won and Hak would be forced to join forces to rescue her. Then if you bring her back badly damaged she could get treated at Hiryuu castle, and they would all follow after her. It would've been an organic development that would've made a forced truce believable. The limbo in between could've also provided some breathing room for conflicting attitudes to somewhat settle. Instead, we are thrown into this weird situation where nobody is actually sure of anything and it feels so out of the blue and leaves so many unanswered questions. Would Yona go back to being a princess in the public eye? Would she keep the lie about King Il's assassination just to avoid public unrest? Would she be free to come and go or would she be a pseudo prisoner in the palace? Would Hak be trialed for treason? Many people of the Sky tribe know that he tried to kill Soo-won so it's not a far-fetched assumption. And if not, would be be reinstated as general of the Wind tribe? And what about the dragons? Are they going to be kept a secret or formally introduced as the dragons? Is the barely budding romance between Hak and Yona going to backpedal again before the love triangle main drama? There are so many conflicting views in this manga that I guess I just can't see how this development could work and I'm afraid it will cause the plot to stagnate. AkaYona has always had a fair deal of political intrigue but it's also about Yona's personal growth and the relationships of the entire group. I like the light-heartedness of it almost as much as the deeper stuff. I don't want this to turn into a palace intrigue story with the Soo-won/Hak/Yona tragic-angle taking full front center stage for chapters on end of veiled threats and silent glares and nothing really happening to answer the main conflict. I want Yona and Hak to develop into a proper couple. I want to know what the prophecy meant by the sword and the shield. I want to see the full extent of the power of the dragons. I want to learn why exactly did Soo-won kill King Il. Please don't disappoint me, Kusanagi-sensei!
To be honest this story bothers me because the central conflict had such potential: an omega that because of his family conditions is trying as best as he can to break out of the omega stigma, and an alpha who is as powerless before a heat as the omega himself. So many great conflicts could've been explored here if they hadn't gone the fluffy route and they hadn't given the alpha some weird Insta-love backstory as justification. I'm all for fluff but this made me sad because I wanted to see some real character clashes. What would happen if two people of strong personalities were forced together because of the heat (which is ultimately the plot device designed by omegaverse stories to achieve this same result). We could've had an omega who was resentful that his dreams were put in jeopardy and unwilling to give up all his hard work while at the same time struggling with the knowledge that, whether he likes it or not, this person is now his only chance at having a family. Conversely, we could've had an alpha who was ashamed of his lack of control and willing to shoulder the responsibility, while of course remain in reluctant to trust his entire future to someone he barely knows when he doesn't really have to. I guess I'm just disappointed because I can see how this series would've been another amazing Kashikomarishita Destiny if only it had been approached different, and instead it just ended up as another run-of-the-mill omegaverse rapey story.
This was just lovely. I know some people are mad about the lack of romance in the plot but I actually believe a stronger romance undertone would have diminished the true beauty of family, growth and coping with loss that is this manga. This a true slice of life masterpiece and I'm so glad I came back to it after watching the anime and followed it through to the end. It really touched me and I recommend it 1000%. Just perfect.
Man, this author does like her furries. I could take the horns, and even the weird spider/lobster thingies. I mean I watched The Shape of Water. What's a couple of extra limbs between friends, right? But MAAAAAAN, the furriness throws me out as hell, even though I love both this and her other furry story. I just squint my eyes real hard and think about equations during the worst parts. And now she's truly gone and ruined Beauty and the Beast for me, because I can see how it could be totally up her alley!!!!!
I like that this is so nice and fluffy and while I would've liked at least a couple of scenes with Euti grown up, I still appreciate the fact that this didn't use the loli element to go the cringe way. I love how balanced their relationship was and how Alec could still take comfort and enjoy spending time with her without it being either awkward or creepy. Also, two thumbs up for the tsundere older brother, he worried me for a while there but at the end of the day he is just one big fluffy cinnamon roll with a crusty exterior.
