As anyone who reads yaoi, I'm familiar with the smut scenes of course, but I have to say they usually don't do much for me. I mean they are just there and are part of the story but for me they are just another plot device, I take them or leave them. Dont seek them, dont really care about them as a whole. That said... This story has some of the most beautiful sex scenes that I've ever read, the way the art is drawn and the panels are crafted is so pretty and purposeful, it almost feel more like a shojo manga than a smut and it strikes me so much. I know its a weird thing to fixate on, but smut in halo tends to focus more on the tantalizing and hot than in the romanticized beauty of it so this is so refreshing and just nice. Especially since consent is expressed very clearly here from the beginning so you can enjoy them with no guilty feeling. I just love them.

I have to say, I've always considered Perez as kind of an accessory to Tia in the scheming department, like he's there to help her with her goals and look pretty more than anything else. BUT my mind has been changed now. This was a diabolically excellent plan. Now, that's ML degree. My hat off, ML.
That's because Tia is so brilliant, and the story's from her perspective. Perez has been planning his revenge for well over a decade, and it shows. 95% of the rest of the novel is just the perfect ending for the Emperor, Empress, and First Prince and I am looking forward to seeing it so much...! ლ(´ڡ`ლ)

Damn, I honestly did not expect this level of quality. I saw this story back when it first came out and dismissed it because of the tired concept and not particularly pretty art (it does improve). Now I'm so glad to say I was wrong. This is a magnificent story. The lead couple is awesome, the character work all around is top notch, communication 10 out of 10 and immaculate vibes. Even its weakest point which is the plot is handled masterfully because the author obviously did not want to delve too deep in complex topics so instead the story is self-aware about how dumb the villains are and how cliche and melodramatic the different developments can be (it almost lost me with the amnesia arc, not gonna lie, but again, it was masterfully handled). Really great experience overall.

I hated how towards the end of Solo Leveling most of the characters we've come to know so well were relegated to mobs by the plot but well, the story was called SOLO leveling so not much to do. Now this, this I can get behind. Equip them all, Suho, my baby, and lets go!!!!!
